This may have already been done before, but I was curious to see what would happen if the amount of released lemmings was > 100:

Interesting indeed. Is this a standalone Amiga emu?

Also, what program are you using to edit the levels?

He is using a program named "Cheat Engine," I know because I recognize the name. Please be careful if you download it as the installer has OpenCandy-esque stuff so you can't just click "next" "next" "next." Though as long as you throughougly read each step of the installer it's not inhernetly a virus. I use it to slow down Lix and play the multi-player map routes in single-player to practice.

speaking of over 100...
how about 2147483647, which is the max amount of lemmings you can have in one level in SuperLemmini without cheats, though it can only be done by manually editing the .ini file

It's likely the cap even with cheats; as that's the highest value that can be stored in a signed 32-bit integer. Adding a further lemming would roll over the value to -2147483648, which would likely cause SL to crash (or at least behave very weirdly).

I also doubt, in practice, that SL would be anwyhere close to playable with that many lemmings active.
My projects
2D Lemmings: NeoLemmix (engine) | Lemmings Plus Series (level packs) | Doomsday Lemmings (level pack)
3D Lemmings: Loap (engine) | L3DEdit (level / graphics editor) | L3DUtils (replay / etc utility) | Lemmings Plus 3D (level pack)
Non-Lemmings: Commander Keen: Galaxy Reimagined (a Commander Keen fangame)
