No worries if you struggle with English sometimes. Keep it up! Lemmings Forums (or any English online community about your hobbies) is an excellent way to improve English over what one learns in school. It's how I've been improving my English for 20 years: Relentless reading about games on the internet, and writing posts in English web forums.

yea i have problems with english but am very good in german

Ah, I see what you're trying to do with 5 (or 7) players:

  • 2 (or 3) left players who all share one exit,
  • 2 (or 3) right players who all share another exit,
  • 1 central player that has a third exit for himself.

That's not possible in Lix. The reason is that Lix removes exits (and entrance hatches) until either the player count divides the number of exits, or the number of exits divides the player count. With 3 exits and 5 (or 7) players, Lix will remove exits until there is only 1 exit left.

It's a strange game rule; I invented it to make any map playable (however stupid) with any player count. The sharing of exits is an awkward game rule, too. It would be better if the level format allowed you to assign exits to players directly, but for now, you have to rely on the automatic assignment (after exits get removed to fit the player count). Unsure what I want to do about this in the future.

For the 3-player map: Please make the exit visible! E.g., add a new terrain piece, set it to dark mode (= eraser mode), and cover the exit with that to make a hole.

Background colors/prototypes: Pick any background color you like, but please make it nice on the eyes. Avoid bright red or bright blue. The mid-green from the non-prototypes is the best. If you don't like the mid-green, try a matte dark blue, or a dark purple.

You've published Sunny Day at the Beach as "Blitz", and now you're publishing Fight over a Candy Cane as "Tom wolf". Do you rather want a single author name for all of your maps?

Yeah i will make the exit visible and i would like to name me Blitz because i started with this name and i would Not be able to find my own levels with two names

Hello today I am writing on
And I have something for the map Happy first day I finally managed to make the 5 and 7P versions it's not like the old map or new as you want to call it it's a mix of the old concept but there are no more teams and it's all against all I'm not sure yet if the design is good and wanted to ask you if it's that good or what's ugly or not fitting on the gameplay or design let me know.

And simon if you read this i have a question what would be the fastest to make lix level changes you or me because i'm not happy with 150 lixes and would set it to 100 because i see flopsy's complaint and i agree it's too many it takes too long and doesn't fit so would you be faster or i can do it but i only have access to one file per and I don't know about you I know programming is very fast and I'm just learning how lix code works and I already manage to change lix colours and actions in replays let me know what would be the fastest and a happy Christmas Eve to all of you or heilig abend here and when i dont write this year i wish you a happy new year.

Asymmetric maps are hard to eyeball. We should playtest it with exactly 5 or 7 players.

I'll merge your updates as they are now. If you want to change them again after playtesting, I'll merge future updates again.

would you be faster

I'll do it this time.

I'll merge your updates to Happy First Day. This will replace the old 5- and 7-player versions with your updated versions. Then I'll change all your Happy First Day (for all player counts, including 5 and 7) from 150 lix to 100 lix.

Yes, it makes sense to learn how to do this yourself.

You need tooling to mass-replace text across many files. I assume you're on Windows. Please make a new topic for this! You'll get help from Windows users. I'm sure there are several good ways to mass-replace text on Windows, but I don't know them.

On Linux, I write command lines around find, ack, sed for mass-replacing text.

1. Before you do this, put all the levels you want to change in a folder, and make a backup somewhere
2. Download Notepad++ https://notepad-plus-plus.org/
3. Run it
4. Click "File"
5. Click "Open Folder as Workspace"
6. Select the folder with all the levels you want to change
7. Right click on the red folder icon at the left
8. Click "Find in files..."
9. Replace the contents of the "Find what:" box with "#INITIAL 150"
10. Replace the contents of the "Replace with:" box with "#INITIAL 100"
11. Click "Replace in files" and then "Ok"

Simon yes I understand that the game test is necessary it is such a thing that you can not see or feel yourself it has to be done by several to know if it is really good.

Silken I understand what you mean it makes sense that Windows would do that. Notepad++ is interesting because the text editor can also but not load a folder but it would make sense if the editor could because it can also have several tabs but it does not. Thank you, that will make a lot easier, especially for text data like lix
