EvilWeevil

Er, so what am I supposed to do?

tseug

This is a topic from the old forum. It's basically records for levels in the original game (and ONML) or ports. You can try to beat the records. :winktounge: (once the right ones are listed... cce can help with that)

EvilWeevil

Ah ok, I get it now. Of course, I haven't actually completed the DOS original since I got the Genesis version first, and it's quite bothersome to play most of the same levels again just to get to the ones which were omitted from the Genesis (I'm guessing these were mostly the ones which were really wide).

Ah well, a true lemmings fan's work is never done...

tseug

You make it sound like you don't have codes. :huh2: DOS Lemmings Codes

And yes, a true Lemmings fan's work IS never done.

Proxima

ONML Crazy 19 and 20 are both 100%able. I think the best achieved on Havoc 20 is lose 7 (not by me, I've only done it losing nine). I can't remember any others offhand.

I stored the whole thread: http://207.58.177.175/~geoo89/lemmings/Lemmings%20Challenges%20-%201117597280.html (2MB)
But I'm too lazy to look it up now.

Proxima

OK, I've looked through the thread, and here are the levels for which the thread differs from your records. On those marked with a star, the thread records are worse than the ones in your post, so of course if you know for definite that the better record has been achieved, the worse one is superseded.

Tricky 16 -- lose 4*
Taxing 27 -- lose 3*
Taxing 28 - lose 15*
Mayhem 29 -- lose 2

Crazy 19 -- 100%
Crazy 20 -- 100%
Wild 13 -- lose 3*
Wild 18 -- lose 2
Wicked 1 -- lose 1*
Wicked 10 -- lose 1*
Wicked 15 -- lose 2
Wicked 17 -- 100%
Wicked 19 -- 100%
Wicked 20 -- 100%
Havoc 10 -- lose 4*
Havoc 17 -- 100%
Havoc 20 -- lose 7

tseug

Thanks, that helps a lot.

Testing tricky 16.... lose 4
Testing Taxing 27... lose 3
Testing Wild 13... lose 3
Testing Wicked 1... lose 1
Testing Wicked 10... lose 1

Proxima

Good luck with those   You didn't update the Havoc 10 record; has lose 3 definitely been achieved?

tseug

I'm pretty sure cce managed it... I'll check the thread.

EDIT: I guess not... maybe I should try it. :winktounge:
EDIT2: Or not... it's really hard.

So now I have these to try:

Taxing 28
Mayhem 2

Won't be easy....

Yes, how true.̆ New record!̆

Crazy 1:̆ save 100%

Now, technically since I used Lemmix to achieve this, I guess to be fair I really should replay it in actual DOS ONML.̆ But as far as I can tell there is no obvious reason for the solution not to work in actual DOS ONML.̆ I'll replay in DOS ONML sometime this weekend I guess.̆ I'll post again once I achieve it in DOS ONML.

To give other people some chance at taking a stab at this, I will wait maybe 2-3 weeks before uploading the Lemmix replay file for this challenge.̆ I can also e-mail or IM it privately to whoever may be interested now.

I am getting very very very close to achieving it in DOS ONML.̆ The one tiny thing holding me back is that there's a precision move at the very end, where I need to assign the last lemming a digger immediately upon his landing from a fall somewhere.̆ As that's the only thing holding me back, I am now certain that the solution works completely as expected in DOS ONML.̆ I will take a break and maybe go for it again later in the day.

Shvegait

I beat it! (Crazy 1 100%) (DOS ONML) Based on your description of the last move, it seems my solution is slightly different than yours. I haven't tried Lemmix yet, but I can try it there and see if I can get a replay.

(Took me maybe an hour until I got the last critical step, then another hour to implement... though now I should be able to do it more reliably.)

I know what you're thinking, if Shvegait can do it, it must not be that difficult.  :winktounge:

EricLang

Wicked 12 is actually lose 1. ccexplore made a record of it.
