MC Marshy

Yo

Here I think we should talk about why we picked a certain username as our username  :)

This is the reason why I chose MC Marshy as my username. It's because my last name is McMarshall and because of it some people decided to call MC Marshy for a joke which I found amusing :)

I decided to give Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic a go on my brother's Xbox, and I was given the task of naming my character. I tried to think of a typical Star Wars character name to suit myself, and created a combination of my first name (James) and my initials (JASR). The result? Jassem! But my other, older brother didn't think much of the inclusion of the letter 's', and reccomended two 'z's to take their place. I went ahead and now it's pretty much stuck with me as my general username.

And the best thing? I haven't played KOTOR (Or the xbox, we ended up selling it after very little use) since! :D

tseug

Mine is "guest" backwards. :D My imagination went on strike. ;D

Mr. K

Mine might have too.  It started when I began making little computer programs at the age of 9.  You see, I wasn't original, so I stuck the first letter of my name (Kyle) onto "Soft".  Tada, the most unique name EVER *shot*.  It wasn't until 6 months later when I first signed up to a forum, so I added a "Mr." to the beginning since I was a guy and was the head of Ksoft anyway.  It has stuck to me since for almost 5 years...  wow.

I've started to stray away from it though.  I've began signing up to forums as "Timmy the Geek" in some occasions.  This stems from fifth grade, when there were two Kyle T.'s, and the teacher decided to call me Timmy since my last name started with Tim.  This also helps my real life friends find me online, since they know I'm a geek and most of them STILL call me Timmy.

EDIT: Heh, I just proved my earlier point about me moving away from the name Mr. Ksoft by changing my name to Timmy the Geek.  :P

chaos_defrost

Errrrrm, my first name is Steve, and I tend to do things that defy the laws of common sense in real life a lot.

... most of my originality goes into the design of things, not into usernames.

When I first saw it, I thought "Timmy the Geek" was a reference to Jimmy the Greek.

Timmy the Geek

Never heard of this "Jimmy the Greek".  Maybe people will get confused?

A related question -- how does one change one's username?

Like your Yoshi comic strip! ;) (Which is very good by the way, made me chuckle quite a bit)

Andi

When I once signed up for LUDB, I had no nickname. So I just used the short version of my firstname. As you all know me by that name, I decided to keep it. Some months later when I started to play Internet games I used to call me 'Evil Lemming'. I also still use that name. :P

Lomay

my user name is almost the same as "Lomax", but instead, a "Y" at the end of the name.  :P

Timballisto

My username...well, I was once reading this book from the Redwall series (a loooooooooong time ago) and one of the dudes in it was named Timballisto.  I thought "Dude!  That is the coolest name ever!" and stole it right out of the book ^_^.  That's now my official name for anything involving a nickname that is not a game.  For games I always call myself The Spear.

Lemika

I use a lot of different usernames. It all depends on what game or forum we're talking about. This particular name, though...
Well, Lemmings Universe was either the first or one of the first forums I ever joined, and I just decided to sign up as one of my characters -- Lem'ka, who exists in the Lemmings-based world I thought up many years ago. And so I've been Lem'ka in Lemmings-related things ever since.
When we switched to this forum, though, I had to change it slightly. It won't accept apostrophes in the username, so I just decided to change it to Lemika here. It's pronounced more like that, anyhow -- as opposed to Lemka, or Lemaka, or Lemeka... well, you get the picture.
It's actually still Lem'ka, though. It just doesn't look like it. XD

Let's see... the only other two you're likely to run into would be Damager (Unreal Tournament 2004) and Erochor (Counterstrike). Damager was thought up in a moment of disgust with my last username there (Dakatha, a relic from my days of playing Populous: The Beginning constantly. There I was Dakatha, or Dakatha_TDM). Erochor is the name of one of my D&D characters, a psychotic Dread Guard.
So. There you have it. Oh, and if none of those (or the other few I have lying around) work, I usually just call myself Enerjak. That usually only happens for multiplayer (as opposed to online) games, however.

LemSteven

I kind of fall under the same category as Tseug because I really wasn't feeling creative when I registered for this forum.  I just decided that since it was a Lemmings forum, I would just attach "Lem" to the front of my first name.  I've done the same type of thing on a couple of other forums, too.  I just replaced "Lem" with something related to the topic of the forum.

drumnbach

I like drum-n-bass, and I like JS Bach.

Proxima

;)  Bach is my favourite composer too!

As for "Ahribar", it's a name I thought of years and years ago. Doesn't mean anything but I like the sound. (It's pronounced A-hri-bar, by the way, with a "h" sound.) I'm now using it for the name of the main character in a series of novels I'm planning.
