Right. I hate to mention something I've already mentioned before, but at the moment unfortunately all attachments from around 28 October 2009 and earlier seem to be missing, as I found out on the most read Challenge thread - Skills you can't live without - and because I don't have these files anywhere I don't know how I am able to recover them. Only a few may have appeared on the old Lemmings File Portal, for example some of the 1-minute challenges, but most of them would need to be done from scratch if they can't be recovered.

Within the past few days I've been looking through every post of this challenge, and compiled a list of all the challenge replays that were missed out from posts from 28 October 2009 and earlier. What I'm hoping for is to solve each challenge and restore them inside the numbered reply marked with the # tag. If you can help contribute to any of these then that'd be helpful, but the difficulty ratings of these are in no particular order, and I have to admit, most of them are quite hard indeed.

I had a go at one of them so far, the no basher Tricky 16 challenge, and was able to solve it. I will soon move it (and any other solutions I can find, which I could compress in a zip) to the appropriate reply if nobody objects to this proposal. Replay attached at the bottom of this thread.

Update: All individual challenge topics completed! And most of the Oh No! More Challenges board have been completed too (Although I probably missed a few early on. It's a huge thread.).

Let me upload my challenge replay archive here, I used to download pretty much every replay back in the day until some point, so you might find some of the missing replays in there.
For the "Skills you can't live without" challenge the subfolder is ch_mineachtype.
(I only grabbed all .lrb files, so this might be missing a few replays contained in zip archives which I didn't unzip. I checked the subfolder ch_mineachtype and at least this one is complete though.)

Just before it comes up - there's pretty much zero chance of recovering these from any old site backups etc, the primary issue being that we don't have backups that they could be restored from. The disappearance was due to an issue with the old forum itself, long before we ever moved to this one (all attachments from the old site that were still available, should have been preserved in the move, although images don't preview correctly - but that's minor).

Thanks to geoo for uploading the replay zip file, (And my ability to extract unusual files) I'm going to start adding the replays into the challenge posts. I will check each post and update the OP as I go along. This should give a better idea of which challenge replays need to be added from scratch.

Edit: And halted. It looks like there's an unwanted side effect I'm discovering with the formatting. The quotes, test size etc. breaks every time I'm add a replay in to the bottom of the post. I'll try and fix these and press preview before I carry on. :XD: Apologies for the mess.

The posts from the lemmingsforums.com iteration of the site were imported directly as plain, raw HTML data (due to an up-to-date site backup being unavailable). Usually such is not accepted in messages, it's filtered out before the post is added to the database - but in this case, I bypassed that by adding the posts directly to the database, thus they never passed through the filter. That's why they work fine when left alone, but break when quoted / edited unless the HTML is manually changed back to BBCode.

You might be able to get around this by wrapping the post in [nobbc]
...
[/nobcc] tags, although I'm not sure if these work for moderators (or only administrators) - though at any rate I can easily change that permission temporarily if need be. (EDIT: It looks like in fact anyone can use this tag, so give it a try.)

OK. Thanks for the clearup. I tried your [nobbc] tag over the whole post but with one press of the preview button it hasn't worked.

Ah, what the hell. That wasn't the tag I meant to post; it must have broken while I was editing the message.

The tag you should be using is HTML, not NOBBC.

So, because there's no Lemmix replay for this, here is effectively the first challenge of this thread.

Solve Frost 15 in 1 minute, 3 seconds.

So far, a DOSBox video has confirmed that the solution is doable in 1-minute. However, Lemmix Player doesn't handle the pause trick correctly which is why 3 seconds have been added to make the success rate more akin to DOS mechanics.

I have replay for that one dated around June 2009, see attachment.

It's labeled "1 minute" with the understanding that it needs either pause trick or the slow fade-out in high performance mode.  In Lemmix it's approximately 61 seconds.

Remember that some version of Lemmix may not have the correct entrance ordering in the level.  The correct ordering should be left, middle, right, middle, (repeat).  If you observe wrong ordering, modify the level by making a copy of the middle entrance.

If you use the versions from NeoLemmix.com, they handle the pause trick correctly, including in replays.

Good job. I was also able to solve it. Took the identical path, except the assignment of the bomber was given to the lemming at the top entrance.

Now, here's another level that falls under the same challenge with no replay: Frost 7. This one certainly looks harder with the larger areas of bottomless pits and the higher number of skills.

Old replay attached.  This also relies on pause trick apparently.
