Take a look at this:

iGod

It's a robot with AI called "iGod" and you can ask anything and talk about what you want! After talking a lot, it could become very funny! :D

I suppose that it's new.
I like dragons! They're the center of my life! I'll never forget them...

Are you a robot?
God:
How did you know I am a machine?
Me:
Well, 'tis obvious, be it not? This is all clearly a hoax.
God:
Interesting.  Then what is it?   You don't say.
Me:
That makes no sense whatsoever. Congratulations!

Erm, he hasn't said anything since...

There's a psychotherapist bot on the internet called Eliza, and it's designed to help you think through your problems. I can't remember where it was though.

God:
Why now?  Talking is my main function.
Me:
but it is idiotic
God:
Should I know  it is?
Me:
yes
God:
I will ask my botmaster to program it.
Me:
okay
God:
OK with me too.
Me:
go ask him
God:
Ok I will ask him when he comes back.
Me:
comes back from what?
God:
Can you rephrase the question please?
Me:

God:
Are you serious?
Me:

God:
I can't believe it.
Me:

God:
Maybe it doesn't make any difference.
Me:
it doesn't
God:
I heard it does.
Me:
no it doesn't
God:
Are you serious?  I heard it does.
Me:
nope
God:
Me either.
Me:

God:
You can say that again.   Where can I get  it right me lunk head?

God:
I am so glad you find this amusing, .   I am so glad you find this amusing, .
Me:

God:
I can't believe it.
Me:
that made no sense
God:
I can't believe it. makes sense to me though.
Me:
what can't you believe?
God:
Quite a lot of things.
Me:
like what?
God:
For example,  eukaryotes.
Me:
what are eukaryotes?
God:
A eukaryote is a relatively 'modern' type of cellular life, distinguished from the more ancient prokaryotes by their distinct nuclear membrane and chromasomes, -which are lacking in prokaryotes.
Me:
what's so hard to believe about that?

No response yet... I think it's really dead now!

tseug(Guest)

QuoteMe:
bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye
God:
See you later.  See you later.  See you later.  See you later.  See you later.  See you later.  See you later.  See you later.  See you later.  Goodbye.
Me:
bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye
God:
Too much recursion in AIML.

The "Eliza" program Drumbach mentioned is actually dated from the 1960s or so.  It just uses pattern matching to formulate responses, although amazingly it was able to fool many people, at least for the first few minutes or so .  I'm sure there are countless imitations of Eliza (with iGod being one of them I suppose) on the Internet if you look hard (or not so hard) enough.
