Crane

I think if a teacher throws anything in class these days, it will be a quick trip to the unemployment office, if not the magistrate's court!

grams88

I think you are right with that one Crane, if you remember that game (heart of darkness) I think the teacher shoved Andy the kid into the cupboard.

Quizmaster

We have 10 answers so far! I'll resolve the feud in two days, on Friday 00:00 UTC.

Quizmaster

1. Name a fun class in school.
Mathematics (1 pt) -- Simon, geoo, Akseli, Proxima, bsmith
Science (0.60 pts) -- Flopsy, LemSteven, Nessy
Drama (0.20 pts) -- grams88
Music (0.20 pts) -- Crane

Quote from: geoomathematics! (sports sucks!)

2. Name an item that a teacher might throw at a student who sleeps in class.
Eraser (1 pt) -- Akseli, Nessy, bsmith
Blackboard eraser (0.67 pts) -- Simon, Proxima
Book (0.33 pts) -- grams88
Chalk (0.33 pts) -- Crane
Keys (0.33 pts) -- geoo
Paper clip (0.33 pts) -- LemSteven
Screwed-up paper (0.33 pts) -- Flopsy

I assume "eraser" means the rubber-erasers for pencil lines, not the sponge-like chalkboard/blackboard erasers. Thus, no merge with those.

Quote from: geooOur teacher actually did that [throw keys], not for sleeping in class though. Fortunately her aim was not very precise.

3. Name a capital letter of the alphabet that is complicated for kids to write properly.
G (1 pt) -- Simon, Flopsy, LemSteven, Proxima
B (0.50 pts) -- grams88, bsmith
A (0.25 pts) -- geoo
K (0.25 pts) -- Crane
Q (0.25 pts) -- Akseli
S (0.25 pts) -- Nessy

4. Name two English words that are often mistakenly written together as one word.
A lot (1 pt) -- Simon, Proxima, Nessy
All together (0.33 pts) -- Crane
As well (0.33 pts) -- Flopsy
Back route (0.33 pts) -- Akseli
Going to (0.33 pts) -- LemSteven
Lemmings Forums (0.33 pts) -- geoo
Will not (0.33 pts) -- bsmith
You tube (0.33 pts) -- grams88

5. Name a well-known building in Europe.
Eiffel Tower (1 pt) -- Simon, geoo, Akseli, Crane, Flopsy, LemSteven, grams88, Proxima, Nessy
Leaning Tower of Pisa (0.11 pts) -- bsmith

6. Name an animal common in Africa.
Lion (1 pt) -- geoo, Akseli, Crane, Flopsy, grams88
Elephant (0.80 pts) -- Simon, LemSteven, Nessy, bsmith
Chameleon (0.20 pts) -- Proxima

7. Name the key on your computer keyboard that will break first from overuse.
Space (1 pt) -- Simon, geoo, Akseli, Crane, Flopsy, LemSteven, grams88, bsmith
E (0.12 pts) -- Nessy
Q (0.12 pts) -- Proxima

8. Name a level from DOS Lemmings 1 where new players get stuck.
Postcard from Lemmingland (1 pt) -- Simon, geoo, Crane, Flopsy, LemSteven, grams88, Proxima, Nessy, bsmith
Keep Your Hair on Mr. Lemming (0.11 pts) -- Akseli

9. Name something found in a refrigerator.
Milk (1 pt) -- Crane, Flopsy, LemSteven, grams88, Proxima, Nessy, bsmith
Cheese (0.29 pts) -- Simon, geoo
Butter (0.14 pts) -- Akseli

With the refrigerator question, I've recycled verbatim a question from the most famous round of Family Feud on American television: Name an animal with 3 letters in its name -- Alligator. But I didn't notice this before Crane mentioned it in his answer, and thus failed to hit top answer (milk) from the show myself!

Quote from: geoomouldy cream cheese (my flat mate had 5 tubs of that in his shelf recently) -- for feud scoring purposes, leave out the "mouldy cream"

10. Give the total span of Dr. Robotnik's mustache.
50 cm (1 pt) -- Simon, Akseli, LemSteven
20 cm (0.33 pts) -- geoo
200 cm (0.33 pts) -- Nessy
24 cm (0.33 pts) -- Flopsy
30 cm (0.33 pts) -- Crane
37 cm (0.33 pts) -- grams88
42 cm (0.33 pts) -- Proxima
60 cm (0.33 pts) -- bsmith

Quote from: grams8810) 37 cm (Might be way off with this one)

It's in the ballpark for sure, but maybe such strangely odd number that others won't guess exactly.

Results
1. Simon (8.75)
2. LemSteven (8.07)
3. Flopsy (7.60)
4. Proxima (7.33)
5. Nessy (7.11)
6. bsmith (7.08)
7. Akseli (6.84)
8. grams88 (6.70)
9. geoo (6.54)
10. Crane (6.45)

I've won my own feud. >_> The next Quizmaster could verify from the Quizmaster's message inbox that I submitted first and didn't change answers since.

LemSteven made a great second place and thus gets the honors of hosting the next feud! Thanks to everybody for participating.

7. Name the key on your computer keyboard that will break first from overuse.
Space (1 pt) -- Simon, geoo, Akseli, Crane, Flopsy, LemSteven, grams88, bsmith
E (0.12 pts) -- Nessy
Q (0.12 pts) -- Proxima
Very interesting. Of all my keyboards, 'W' is the very first key to break/wear of the most.

Quote1. Name a fun class in school.
Mathematics (1 pt) -- Simon, geoo, Akseli, Proxima, bsmith

It's maybe not astonishing here but somehow funny that maths was the top answer since the cliché seems to be the contrary that it's most disliked.

Crane

That's the reason why I avoided saying Mathematics myself.  I adore the subject, but I've been threatened with physical violence for talking passionately about it.

"Keep Your Hair on Mr. Lemming" --I seem to recall Simon and maybe someone else saying they got stuck on that one when they were very young.

Well done Simon

I was sort of tempted to say mathematics then I started thinking maybe sports or PE then I went for Drama. It would be interesting to see what would come up as the worst subject.

I like how you posted some pictures as well there Simon. :)

I got stuck on it, but I was only 5 at the time - can you blame me?

I hadn't realised Family Feud was going again!
I'll play!

The results are in!  We had a total of 11 players in this round.

1: Name a yellow fruit.
Banana (1 pt.) -- LemSteven, Proxima, Simon, Flopsy, NaOH, Crane, bsmith, grams88, 607, Nihilist Comedy Hour, Nessy

I deliberately recycled this question from an infamous incident on the TV show, in which the contestant gave the answer, "Orange".  bsmith also pointed this out when giving his answer.

I'm shocked nobody went with the other obvious answer of "Lemon".

2: Name a sport in the Winter Olympics.
Skiing (1 pt.) -- Proxima, Flopsy, NaOH, Crane, bsmith, grams88, Nessy
Figure Skating (0.29 pt.) -- LemSteven, 607
Biathlon (0.14 pt.) -- Simon
Luge (0.14 pt.) -- Nihilist Comedy Hour

3: Name a European river.
Rhine (1 pt.) -- NaOH, Crane, bsmith, 607, Nessy
Danube (0.6 pt.) -- LemSteven, Proxima, grams88
Volga (0.2 pt.) -- Simon
Seine (0.2 pt.) -- Flopsy
Rubicon (0.2 pt.) -- Nihilist Comedy Hour

4: Name any level from Lemmings or ONML that has the word "Lemming" or "Lemmings" in the title.
Keep your hair on Mr. Lemming (1 pt.) -- Proxima, Crane, 607, Nessy
Down And Out Lemmings (0.75 pt.) -- LemSteven, Simon, grams88
Postcard from Lemmingland (0.25 pt.) -- Flopsy
Smile if you love lemmings (0.25 pt.) -- NaOH
Turn around young lemmings (0.25 pt.) -- bsmith
Origins and Lemmings (0.25 pt.) -- Nihilist Comedy Hour

607 noted that "Keep your hair on Mr. Lemming" was mentioned in the last round.  That may very well have led to it becoming the most popular answer this time, beating out what I thought was the more obvious "Down And Out Lemmings".

5: Name an expensive car
Ferrari (1 pt.) -- LemSteven, Simon, Crane, grams88, Nihilist Comedy Hour, Nessy
Porsche (0.17 pt.) -- Proxima
Rolls Royce (0.17 pt.) -- Flopsy
Tesla (0.17 pt.) -- NaOH
Corvette (0.17 pt.) -- bsmith
Bugatti (0.17 pt.) -- 607

6: Name a Valentine's Day gift.
Chocolate (1 pt.) -- Proxima, Simon, NaOH, bsmith, Nessy
Flowers (0.6 pt.) -- LemSteven, grams88, Nihilist Comedy Hour
Roses (0.6 pt.) -- Flopsy, Crane, 607

Since many floral arrangements do not include roses, "Flowers" and "Roses" were considered separate answers per the subclass rule.

7: Name a prop that a magician might use.
(Magic) Wand (1 pt.) -- LemSteven, Proxima, Simon, Crane, Nihilist Comedy Hour, Nessy
Hat (0.83 pt.) -- Flopsy, NaOH, bsmith, grams88, 607

I merged "Hat", "Magic Hat", and "Top Hat" as synonyms, since a magician traditionally wears a top hat.

8: Name an animal that starts with the letter "M".
Mouse (1 pt.) -- Proxima, Simon, Flopsy, NaOH, grams88, 607, Nihilist Comedy Hour
Monkey (0.29 pt.) -- LemSteven, Nessy
Meerkat (0.14 pt.) -- Crane
Moose (0.14 pt.) -- bsmith

9: Name a card game that is not played in casinos.
Bridge (1 pt.) -- LemSteven, Simon, bsmith
Solitaire (1 pt.) -- Flopsy, grams88, Nessy
Cassino (0.33 pt.) -- Proxima
Magic: The Gathering (0.33 pt.) -- NaOH
Snap (0.33 pt.) -- Crane
Uno (0.33 pt.) -- 607
Go Fish (0.33 pt.) -- Nihilist Comedy Hour

10: Which of the original eight Lemmings skills is the most underused?
Floater (1 pt.) -- Simon, Flopsy, NaOH, grams88, Nessy
Miner (0.4 pt.) -- LemSteven, 607
Bomber (0.4 pt.) -- Proxima, bsmith
Climber (0.4 pt.) -- Crane, Nihilist Comedy Hour

This was the question I was most eager to see the results from.  Statistically, the Miner is the least allotted skill in Lemmings and ONML, but Floater ended up being the most popular answer.

Results:
1: Nessy (9.29)
2: grams88 (8.78)
3: Simon (8.09)
4: NaOH (7.58)
5: Proxima (7.50)
6: Crane (7.48)
7: Flopsy (7.05)
8: LemSteven (6.92)
9: bsmith (6.79)
10: 607 (6.62)
11: Nihilist Comedy Hour (5.93)

Nessy is our winner with a very impressive score of 9.29, getting the top answer on 9 out of 10 questions!  He wins first dibs on hosting the next round.  grams88 takes second with 8.78 points, and Simon finishes third with 8.09 points.  Thanks everyone for playing!

Nessy

Awesome! I can't believe I won

I'll go ahead and host the next round. I should have it ready by next week :)
