Okay, so it may or may not be a mouse, it has a jetpack, and you seem to need to find crystals.
Urg. I have no clue. Well, actually, I probably have several clues - I'm just putting them together wrong.

Okay, seeing as how nobody's getting that one... it's Sparkster 2 : Rocket Knight Adventures, released by Konami in 1994 for the Sega Megadrive. And just to clear up the species argument, Sparkster is an Australian possum.

Anyway, new game, and this time it's a Sega Megadrive release title... this lad was Sega's mascot before Sonic showed up. Here's the pic.
