Prince Jamie

Hello, this Update involves the Terrormisu Trap that will appear on the Illusion Level:

Part 1:

This is the animated part of the Trap that will loop continuously. You will notice the cute face is gone and so is her left arm, that is the Trap Trigger part that will place in front of this one to make it look complete

Part 2:

This is the trigger part of the Trap, that will animate when the Lemming triggers the trap. You will notice it has just her chest and left arm that goes in front of the Animated part to complete it. The first frame will show all the time, until a Lemming triggers the Trap animation.

Part 3:

This is what both the Trap and Trigger looks like with both layers combined. Obviously it doesn't loop continuously or line up with the dress twirling and hair moving like this, it's a demonstration so you know what to expect.

What is your opinion on it?

I like how you've layered the two objects to create a neat animation. That trigger area is rather tall though...

Thank you for your response nin10doadict, the 2 layers of the trap was inspired by the Chameleon and Zapper Traps from Oh No! More Lemmings; separating the Trap into 2 parts, then combining them together.

I also agree that the Trigger area is very big :lem-shocked: I personally thought it was too big myself, so I'll reduce the Trigger size, making it a lot easier to dodge her, thanks for pointing it out

:tal-gold: Also a Note to everyone on this page, I am currently making the Custom Tileset the Terrormisu Trap will appear on and the theme of this new Tileset is entitled "Illusion". I will post a screenshot of how it's turning out very soon, but no demo video for a while :tal-gold:

To avoid any major spoilers to "Prince Jamie's Super Challenge Pack Set 3", I'm only showing a little on how the "Illusion" Tileset is coming along...

When this one is complete, I'll start working on the next Tileset of Set 3; "Flash"

QuoteIs it the entrance, is it the Exit? Who knows

On NeoLemmix, anyone who knows how to use Clear Physics Mode.
On other engines*, or for those who don't know how to use it, no one does, and that is going to very much put people off from playing your levels. As people have repeatedly stated: Deceptive level designs are not "a fun gimmick", they're really annoying. In fact, even on NeoLemmix where they can at least find out, or rewind if they run into something unexpected, this would probably still put them off; on SuperLemmini which has no such features, it's even worse.

* except maybe Lix; I don't know if Lix has implemented something similar to Clear Physics Mode yet (or if not, if there are any plans to)
My projects
2D Lemmings: NeoLemmix (engine) | Lemmings Plus Series (level packs) | Doomsday Lemmings (level pack)
3D Lemmings: Loap (engine) | L3DEdit (level / graphics editor) | L3DUtils (replay / etc utility) | Lemmings Plus 3D (level pack)
Non-Lemmings: Commander Keen: Galaxy Reimagined (a Commander Keen fangame)

Proxima

In fairness, merely playing the level for a few seconds without doing anything is enough to establish whether an unknown object is an entrance or not.

Well said Proxima, It's always best to pause the Level upon start and take a look around your environment, before coming up with a solution to beat the level.

Poll Results so far, Week 1:

Risk: 0 Votes

So far, it looks like "Sacrifice" will be the decided Rating, along with the special Level being "Micro Machines", but anything can happen in the next 4 weeks!

Which is exactly why unfair design is not liked.

On this set, I'm going to include a total of 2 special levels instead of 1;
1 being the chosen Rating
The other being a famous Internet meme since 2013: Grumpy Cat
What is your opinion?

I 100% could not resist to make this! ;P      Grumpy Cat wants a fair level, too!

Reasons why I'm including "Grumpy Cat" as a special level on Set 3:

1. I've been watching hundreds of custom Lemming Levels on YouTube for over 10 years(yes really) mainly by pieuw, but I have not seen any levels involving "Cats".

2. It occurred to me that Lemmings Plus IV had a Special Level, based of a Dog meme called "Doge" on Smooth 11: Wow! Such Level!

3. I've been playing "Grumpy Cat's Worse Game Ever" on my iPhone for 2 weeks

Plus, I agree with IchoTolot, thanks for your feedback, mate

IMPORTANT NOTICE

When the poll voting ends in 4 Weeks, Set 3 will not be complete instantly, I need to think of 15 unique levels, which takes time and patience, so you're talking between:

Summer 2017 and Autumn 2017

Prince Jamie's Super Challenge Pack Set 3 Development progress:

Illusion tileset:
All the objects have been tested and are all working, including the Trap, Entrance and Exit.

Most of the Terrain is complete(including the steel), but needs to be remodeled to fit the theme of the tileset, then after all that is done, I will make a test level out of it and I will post it on YouTube and share the link here, so you can see how it's coming along. After that, I will make a level out of it for the Set. Keep in mind that there will only be 1 in the Set.

Flash tileset:
This tileset has not been started and maybe renamed. Once Illusion is complete, this one will come next.

Levels made:
I've made 1 so far, but I'm not 100% sure it will be in the final Set, but should I post it here so you can see for yourself? It requires the "house" tileset from Set 2 in order for it to work, from which I will include.
