There should be an option in the GSTool for an object that is constantly looping an animation, and plays a sound effect when a lemming touches it. There is an object in one of my upcoming graphic sets that would really benefit from this.

Hmm, the only use I can think of for such a thing would be to allow sound to indicate a lemming has reached somewhere not currently in view onscreen.  Plus the potential to really annoy the user especially if placed at a path that most lemmings would wind up passing through on way to exiting. :-\  It would also likely be rather confusing for most players to hear a sound effect without also any visual indications (eg. a different animation) of anything happening, something that I don't believe has ever occurred in any of the official Lemmings games.  I can easily imagine a player not knowing about the design of a graphics set to file a bug on something like this.

The best I can say is that if this is made to happen, I can almost guarantee someone will also request for an option to turn off such sound effects.

With a bit of workaround-ing, you can already achieve this: Have a no-effect object for the looping animation, and an invisible triggered animation object to play the sound effect. The number of frames of the triggered animation object would then be how many frames must occur between occurances of the sound.

I'm not entirely sure that we want to be outright supporting this though, for much the reasons ccexplore mentions.
