I've been playing the Copycat Lemmings package on NeoLemmix, and I've found that Tricky 10 is no longer solvable with its most recent version: the intended solution requires direct drop of Lemmings to the shelter from a huge distance, but instead, all but one -the one with an umbrella- splat against the floor. Any ideas, apart from use an old version?

It does indeed seem to be impossible, albeit barely (one extra destructive skill of any kind (including bomber) or one extra builder, and it could be completed).

I'll send Essman a PM to ask if he has any preference on how to deal with this, if there's no reply or he doesn't have any specific preference, I'll make a decision, and either way, I'll release an update that makes this level possible soon.

It's probably ideal to use an older version for Cheapo content anyway; although V1.43n-F does support the "Cheapo Mode" mechanics tweaks still, losing direct drop is likely to have a significant impact on Cheapo levels where use of it was more common. Future versions of NeoLemmix aren't going to support the Cheapo tweaks at all.
My projects
2D Lemmings: NeoLemmix (engine) | Lemmings Plus Series (level packs) | Doomsday Lemmings (level pack)
3D Lemmings: Loap (engine) | L3DEdit (level / graphics editor) | L3DUtils (replay / etc utility) | Lemmings Plus 3D (level pack)
Non-Lemmings: Commander Keen: Galaxy Reimagined (a Commander Keen fangame)

Essman asked for my input on what would be a good way to go forward, making sure not just to make the level possible, but also suitable difficulty for its position (adding a single extra miner would make it possible but nonetheless way too hard for Tricky 10, for example).

The suggestion I've proposed to him is to change the skillset to 1 each of the first four skills, and 2 each of the last four. This leaves the level fairly challenging, but not too hard for its position. I'll put the update up as soon as he gives the okay (assuming he does).

It seems that Taxing 14 has the same kind of solution, too (6:51 to 7:19 on beyond):

Thanks for the report. Hopefully that level can also be fixed by just changing the tool counts. A fix is in the works.

I think I've found another two unsolvable levels (due to direct drop problem) in OtherCheapoLevels pack: they are Level 23 and Level 30 of Step One (AKA Backroute Remakes). The first one is a remake of Acrophobia (Lemmings from Genesis version), which forces the player to exploit the unintended backroute which can solve the level in the Sega port of the game. The last one, which also is the last level of the rating, is a remake of Try Anything Once (again from Sega Genesis Lemmings), and again, forces the player to choose the direct drop backroute.

Proxima

In this case I would suggest just removing those levels from the pack. There is already a separate level showcasing the non-direct-drop version of the Present 27 backroute.

Aside from Copycat Lemmings, I don't handle the Cheapo conversions. As far as I know, DynaLem did all of the rest.
