Akseli has the same problem. Every time after results are posted, some people claim they've mised they round. The topic is open for a week, but apparently not visible enough, or people procrastinate.

Players: Join the feud as soon as it opens. If you're unsure about some questions, enter rubbish for those. You can amend your answers later by sending another PM. It's important to get a first set of answers in as soon as the round opens.

Quizmaster: Maybe make an extra post 3 days before resolution. Remind pepole to enter, announce how many entrants there are. Multiple posts is how namida attracts people for the level contest. The level contest is way more work to join than the feud.

Recent feuds have had almost all the submissions come in the first two days with one or two come in during the remaining time.  But it appears that people missing feuds is a recurring issue, so I now intend to issue a 'last call' as Simon requests.

For Labor Day, we have a Labor Feud!
All questions are regular scoring.

1. How many hours per week do you work?
2. How often in one workday are you required to lift an object of at least 20 pounds (9 kilograms)?
3. In one day, how many hours of your work do you do sitting down?
4. How many jobs have you had?
5. How many vacation days does your company give you per year?
6. How long is your lunch break?
7. Name a job that pays minimum wage.
8. Name a job with lots of physical labor.
9. Name a job that takes a lot of mental effort
10. Name a job which has a very high salary.

Good idea. Specifying a closing date might also help; you can always extend it if answers are still coming in.

Probably some mixture of cashier, cook and janitor.  Here in the US, fast food jobs are pretty strongly associated with minimum wage and minimum qualifications, so the answer is quite expected.  Yeah, I suppose the much higher-paid manager is technically also a McDonald's job.  Feud is about popularity not correctness after all. ;P

Crane

Plus everyone loves to hate on McDonald's!

namida

That association is far from unique to the US. We have the same here in NZ too, and thats despite McDonalds not literally paying minimum wage (yet some other jobs actually doing so).

That sounded like an interesting round, welldone to Mobius with a score of 9.5 :)

I love the food in Mcdonald's, the other day I got two little tasters which are the chicken wrap with lettuce and I think they have a bacon choice at our local Mcdonalds. I think there was one time UK Mcdonalds were offering degrees but have not really looked into to it that much.

In the UK there's been a very unpopular thing called zero hours contracts which are you could be working a lot of hours a week to just two or one hour a week. I think I know someone who is on a zero hour contract and she is only doing two hours a week. I think she's trying to find another job now as the two hours a week probably won't get you that much money.

Interesting answers still. Thanks!

Quote6. Name something that gives off a bright flash when used.
2/3 pt - Nuclear Bomb - namida, bsmith

When I submitted my answer, I included the comment "Recently, it seems that whenever "nuclear bomb" is a plausible answer, it always comes up", or something along those lines. I was not disappointed; even if it wasn't the top answer this time.

But alas, you missed out on that opportunity for question 8. :P

Also get the impression that the subclass rule isn't strictly in effect anymore. Either way, that was a tough round for sure, with some smart (Q6) and some inexplicable (Q5) winning answers.
