Why are some users labelled as guests?

Here's something I've never seen before in the new forum. Take this board for example. Here it labels Tax-5 as a guest, and I therefore have no way to access it's personal profile.
Level Solving Contest creator. Anybody bored and looking for a different challenge? Try these levels!

Lix: #2  #7
Both Engines: #3

If they havent registered yet, and didnt have an account (or had no posts) on the old forun as at January last year, they wont have an account here so their posts will be guest posts.

If they do have an account here, it just means their posts haven't been linked to their account yet. I can fix this when I'm at a PC.

Nope. That just affects whether they can be seen in Who's Online.
