A koan has the Buddha-nature if its letters are in either alphabetical order or reverse alphabetical order.

You are englightened! Congrats, that was quick.

Quote from: Silken Healer on November 20, 2024, 04:10:03 PMI respect it's up to Simon, but in my opinion all this talk about adding a turn system
There is already a "turn system", and the only suggestion was to limit the number of guesses per turn, as I felt that WillLem's guess of four wildcard templates at once (104 koans total) was excessive.

Quoteand guesses having a goal in mind
I assume you mean Ramon's post #840, but again you are stripping away the context: Ramon said that he misinterpreted WillLem's guess as being "I guess all koans up to 4 letters", and was explaining why he disagreed with making such a guess. No-one has argued for "guesses must have a goal in mind" to be an explicit rule, which would drain the fun out of the game as well as being nearly impossible to enforce.

zendofmt 1.2.0 is out (how to use), it fixes the following two bugs:

  • Silken re-asked EIGHT and it showed twice in the output. Now it shows only once. Still, we give it an asterisk again if it's a recent re-guess.
  • The free-form text from footer.txt appeared under the koan lists separated by two empty lines from the koan lists. Now it's separated by only one empty line.

Silken, no worries!

I awarded Proxima the win here. In the tabletop game with limited guessing stones, I would have asked back to clarify: What happens with equal-weight elements in the range-to-be-sorted? I.e., would Proxima mark AAABCC white or black, given that he marks ABC white and ACA black? (AAABCC would have been white, but nobody except me knew.)

In the forum game here, we have unlimited guesses, and the possible alternatives (either repeats are allowed, or they aren't) are completely clear to everybody the moment I ask for clarification. That's why I cut short this obvious endgame here.

Yeah, no worries, I'm not upset or anything, just didn't want my earlier words to be taken wrongly.

New round!
