If you prefer a GUI-based tool that makes a list with multiple rows, here's my tool. Windows-only, although I would be very surprised if it didn't work perfectly under WINE. It does require manually saving / loading the files.

As for this round itself... I'm clueless.

Simon got the rule in chat. A koan has the buddha nature if and only if it contains an odd number of vertical line segments; equivalently, an odd number of letters from the class {B, D, E, F, G, I, J, K, L, P, R, T, Y}.

I was shying away from testing single letters, because I believed that the exising koans were already disproving such a two-class theory already. Checking again, they didn't, which led to the solution.
