What is going on with Lemmings Touch on Vita? Seems ages ago now that the game was announced, in fact that is the sole reason I got a Vita, but there has been nothing, no news at all.  Has is been scrapped?

Luis

It's because Lemmix is just gonna steal the levels, making it pointless to buy. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/devil.gif" alt="" title="Evil" class="smiley" /> (Just kidding) I don't know what's going up with that game. Maybe they noticed that many people don't have the PSP Vita because of it's low sales?

Lemmings Touch has been being promoted, but sadly only by non-Sony sources, which runs a bit contrary to their admission in all this that they've not really given the series enough attention until now (i.e., since they stopped Psygnosis from being multi-platform and fully absorbed them into the company). I've collected all of the footage and info that I know of on the second page of the main Lemmings Touch thread, http://www.lemmingsforums.com/index.php?topic=844.15" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">here. The last time the game was showcased was in mid-December.

The only other thing I know is that it slipped its given release window of late last year.

It's now been six months since it was announced, so hopefully it won't be too long, now. Even with the PS Vita's poor sales (ironically enough, Lemmings Touch is the sort of game that could help them, as it's something that's actually suited to a handheld system) I don't see any reason to believe it's under threat, as the developer has a track record of delivering the goods, and the game looked pretty polished in its most recent appearance.

Luis

It is the type of game that could help them, because the PSP version sold enough to get a Platinum and a yellow favorite on the case: http://www.gamefaqs.com/psp/928435-lemmings/images/box-89478" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">http://www.gamefaqs.com/psp/928435-lemmings/images/box-89478

I don't remember seeing that yellow favorite on a PSP case until now. I don't know how much the PS3 version was sold, but there are a lot of people in the leaderboard.

The PS3 version was kinda disappointing. No level editor, doesn't have the original levels, and has a very small number of levels.
The PS2 version, I believe, is a port of the PSP version, and probably a more accurate comparison.
My projects
2D Lemmings: NeoLemmix (engine) | Lemmings Plus Series (level packs) | Doomsday Lemmings (level pack)
3D Lemmings: Loap (engine) | L3DEdit (level / graphics editor) | L3DUtils (replay / etc utility) | Lemmings Plus 3D (level pack)
Non-Lemmings: Commander Keen: Galaxy Reimagined (a Commander Keen fangame)

I just tried to do a bit more ferreting out of information (which is mildly annoying, because search results for Lemmings Touch are dominated by the old announcement postings from last September, which skews things somewhat), and stumbled across this, from d3t Ltd.'s Twitter feed, posted on January 23rd and 25th;

I wish they could say a bit more than just "soon soon", but it's still a more recent mention than December's, which makes me less concerned about the game's fate. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/tongue.gif" alt=":P" title="Tongue" class="smiley" /> Maybe they're holding it back for a spring or summer holidays release, since it'd be a slower-burning, and more quick-bites centred, game than the typical Vita output thus far has been?

namida

I really hope they eventually bring it to another platform (preferably PS3 or Android). I don't have a Vita, but it's starting to look more and more like I might need to consider getting one at some point... :/

Are you saying you were expecting the PS3 version to be yet another port of the original Lemmings? I think they wanted to give us something new, since it has different terrains, pickup skills and teleports. It was released on the same year as the PSP and PS2, so bringing back the original levels would probably be unnecessary. The PSP didn't had that many new levels either. If you remove the original levels in that version, it will be a small game too. I think the real problem is developers aren't making a new set of 120 levels. Maybe in Lemmings Touch will see 100+ new levels?

I agree with the editor. In this day and age, no Lemmings game should be made without it. But then again, game servers always get shutdown but we will always have Lemmix.

Hey, does anyone have a Twitter account with which to give http://twitter.com/d3tLtd" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">d3tLtd a poke about Lemmings Touch's release status?

I mean, I'm sure the game's in no danger of being cancelled (or at least, I'd certainly hope so!), but it'd be nice to know if they're able to say anything other than "soon" at this point. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/laugh.gif" alt=":D" title="Laugh" class="smiley" />

Customize your lemmings?!

Great find! That article is from just yesterday, so those pics are indeed new - hope renewed! http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/thumbsup.gif" alt="" title="Thumbs Up" class="smiley" />

The lemming customisation was shown off in one of the videos from late last year, too. I actually quite like the feature. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/laugh.gif" alt=":D" title="Laugh" class="smiley" />

For even more reassurance, there are new costume sets for Sackboy in LittleBigPlanet 2, Karting and Vita that feature not just the normal Lemming we all know and love, but also the Mischievous Lemming, which was one of the new additions being planned for Lemmings Touch. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/smiley.gif" alt=":)" title="Smiley" class="smiley" />

Hmm, not used to seeing a lemming wearing claw shoes. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/undecided.gif" alt=":-\" title="Undecided" class="smiley" />

You don't have to use it. I don't think I will either because I usually always use default colors and clothes, like in fighting games.

That lemmings outfit for LittleBIGPlanet was actually really good looking! And it further proves Lemmings Touch isn't dead which is a really good thing.  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/thumbsup.gif" alt="" title="Thumbs Up" class="smiley" />
