Hi there, I realise you must get threads like this all the time, so firstly I appologize, but I've tried for about 3 hours now to find a way I can download Lemmings onto my Windows 7 laptop and it's incredibly difficult,

would anyone please be able to make an idiots guide step by step on how to get this onto my laptop, I re-discovered this game last week and I'm having strong urges to play it everyday, any help would be much appreciated, I've downloaded quite alot of different torrents which don't really work.

Thank you. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/smiley.gif" alt=":)" title="Smiley" class="smiley" />

You have impeccable timing. I looked into this just a couple days ago and you can see my findings here:

The tl;dr version is that Lemmings Revolution won't work right on Windows 7. I was able to get it running on Linux, so it's not at the point that it can't be played, but we can't quite use it on Windows anymore.

thanks so much for your reply, I've read the read you linked me to and am still a little bit confused, could you please explain how I would go about running Lemmings in "Linux". After I've downloaded "Linux" is it a case of going into it, and then downloading a version of Lemmings? and if so what version from which site?

Also there is quite alot of different sites offering Linux, could you please recommend a reputable site?
Thanks again.

follow GuyPerfect (or ccexplore) for advice on Lemmings Revolution. this game is still in the works to be playable on Windows 7. and an editor to be made for it (I can dream can't I?)

if your looking for any other lemmings games (since you just said "Lemmings") I suggest Lemmix: http://www.lemmingsforums.com/index.php?topic=414.msg9334;topicseen#msg9334" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">http://www.lemmingsforums.com/index.php?topic=414.msg9334;topicseen#msg9334

I also suggest Lemmini: http://lemmini.de/" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">http://lemmini.de/ If you need help see the "Lemmix" help thread (there's two of em) or post here again I can give you more specific instructions.

Linux is an operating system, which runs on your computer in the same way Microsoft Windows does. If you don't feel like you're comfortable installing another one of those on your computer, it's probably better to skip it for now. Surely Lemmings isn't that important. (-:

However, if you have a spare computer laying around that you can experiment with, might as well give it a try, right?

If you'd like to look into it yourself regardless, the Linux distribution I like is called http://www.debian.org/" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">Debian.
