I can't see myself using it in preference to, say, Lix. I've never even played Lemmings Revolution, which says something about my interest in that game I guess http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/undecided.gif" alt=":-\" title="Undecided" class="smiley" />

I highly recommend it, as it's pretty much like the original except, much better graphics, easier interface (pausing with P, etc) wrap around level, & all the added cool stuff like switches. [which really add more puzzle possibilities, and strategies that i would say have barley scratched the surface in the game]  Of course, I should digress, as its not working properly on Windows 7 but it works on XP.  And there may be a way to fix it.

I realize that being on a CD, many people might not even have a convenient way of obtaining the game to begin with. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/undecided.gif" alt=":-\" title="Undecided" class="smiley" />  (The files total to ~330 MB, and because they are basically packed into one big file whose format is yet unknown, even uploading it is tricky.)
I found a RAR of the files and have them on my computer; however, I haven't been able to get them to work.

Recent development shows that the BOX file format is pretty simple, and more importantly, it is uncompressed so even though it is 330 MB, it likely compresses to something more manageable (though I haven't tried yet).  So distribution might not be that big a problem as I thought.

I'll have to dig a little more to see if I can help Finlay with getting the game to work with just the raw set of files, but I suspect it's probably not too bad of a problem.  Probably just need some entries in the registry.  Also, even when you choose to install as many of the files on your hard disk as the installer lets you, the game still bizarrely requires the CD because the cutscene movies never get installed on your hard disk (extremely annoying as it means a ridiciulous delay to spin up the CD every time it plays a cutscene movie, like whenever you win or lose a level http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/angry.gif" alt=">:(" title="Angry" class="smiley" />).  I'm not sure if this can be avoided, but shouldn't be that bad to burn the cutscene movie files into a CD.
if you ask me, I can do without the cut scene movies, I just think they're kinda of annoying (maybe cause they're the only thing that works on Win7 and I'm playing music in the background then they come on and they're LOUD.  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/angry.gif" alt=">:(" title="Angry" class="smiley" />

I'm probably alone on this one, but I'd really like to see a Lemmings 3D editor... more so than Revolution.
My projects
2D Lemmings: NeoLemmix (engine) | Lemmings Plus Series (level packs) | Doomsday Lemmings (level pack)
3D Lemmings: Loap (engine) | L3DEdit (level / graphics editor) | L3DUtils (replay / etc utility) | Lemmings Plus 3D (level pack)
Non-Lemmings: Commander Keen: Galaxy Reimagined (a Commander Keen fangame)

The main caveat is that it'd be on Wine rather than natively on Windows.

The main caveat is that it'd be on Wine rather than natively on Windows.

I'm aware, although based on the fact that Simon had completed the game, I'm thinking he got it working on WINE?  Anyway we'll see.

I completed the patched game about 5 years ago, but I switched operating systems only last year. And I just went back from my parents' town to my university town today, so I don't have access to the LR CD any more to test >_>
