It's impressionistic.  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/tongue.gif" alt=":P" title="Tongue" class="smiley" />

30 seconds are damn short. I drew the heart rather slowly, connecting its outline, as I wanted to floodfill it later. And I have no clue why the right chameleon has ears.

Loads of hotkeys set up for this one... only thing I did after was resize, save and upload. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/smiley.gif" alt=":)" title="Smiley" class="smiley" />

If you realize the idea the artist wanted to convey with this picture, you'll love this masterpiece!

There.  My entry.

Hmmmmm, my mind may be a bit more twisted than I thought  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/undecided.gif" alt=":-\" title="Undecided" class="smiley" />

This was very difficult for me, since the given task was rather concrete. I let a neutral person act as the jury, with only telling her "they had 30 seconds, and get bonus points for heart-shaped tails and likewise gimmicks".

The winner is geoo! He gets the price for his outstanding blend of tongues, the heart, and a lemming for eye-catching. Several others came in close, and geoo's one had been among my favorites before, so I can fully support this decision.

The previous challenge was a lovely one, I'm not sure whether my new one can live up to it, but anyway, here it is.

New Challenge: Draw one of your favourite Lemmings levels (from one of the original games), only using the filled polygon tool, in 10 seconds flat.
(With filled polygon tool I mean the one that allows you to draw a path of points connected by lines, and when you double-click, the path gets closed and the enclosed area is filled. If you're not using MSPaint, anything that achieves an equivalent effect is allowed as well of course, and manually filling the area if the program doesn't provide filled polygon don't count towards the 10 second limit.)
After these 10 seconds, you may add a red dot for each entrance, a green dot for each exit, and resize the image, but nothing beyond that.
Put the name of the level in spoiler tags, so I can take a guess at what level is depicted there, and then verify whether my guess is correct.
Note: If it's evident to me that the level you picked is not amongst your favourites, i.e. you just picked it because it's easy to draw, then you'll have pretty low chances of winning. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/tongue.gif" alt=":P" title="Tongue" class="smiley" />

Ten seconds is a bit too difficult to time, I find, didn't know how to do it. So i probably went over the time. Also I hate the fact that I have a mac and the only programs I have to do this kind of stuff are Photoshop, which is over-featured for this yet doesn't have a proper polygon tool, or some rather rubbishy paint ripoffs which don't have nearly enough features. Or one that I downloaded that was counterintuitive and stupid (apparently based on gimp, which i haven't tried, but it did stuff like expecting me to resize a picture twice, once for the layer and once for the canvas. or something like that). Or they're shareware and make you wait 30 s...

Anyway:

Quote from: Level Name
Where Lemmings Dare – I quite like the look of this level, but it was a lot easier than I remember it being before, when I played it the other day. Maybe I've just played the game too much. Also, I wouldn't say it's quite my favourite (although I'm not sure what that is) but you've kind of tied our hands in terms of what we can do because we can't exactly pick a complex or lengthy level and draw it in 10 seconds. Also I missed out the stalk in the ground  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/angry.gif" alt=">:(" title="Angry" class="smiley" />

Also sorry if it makes the window have a scroll bar...

Here's my version of a spoiler tag:
It's No added colours or lemmings

ccexplore

For once I might participate, but I do have a question:  is it okay to first try it out in paper and pencil to get a sense of how one plans on executing the drawing, or is that cheating?

Simon

I always assume that it's not cheating, you can practise as much as you like. The restriction counts only when making the final product that gets posted.

Gronkling and Giga got entrance and exit dots the wrong way round (geoo and i used red entrance and green exit), and Giga doesn't seem to know how to make a spoiler box. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/tongue.gif" alt=":P" title="Tongue" class="smiley" /> (hint: just copy it from geoo's post with the "quote" tags and everything.)
