Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the Lemmings Forums Art Challenge.
(Another game stolen from another forum I visit.. never mind.)

The rules are simple:
1. The competition must be able to be completed in Paint, or similar software
2. The winner of each challenge can either set a challenge or call open floor.
3. The person who sets the challenge judges their challenge and decides who wins.

If this takes off, I propose that every week (or so) we have a drawing competition, each with a theme. However, the challenges must have some ridiculous twist.

Okay, my challenge to you is quite simple:
Draw a cat in Paint with your eyes closed!

I've attached my example to show you just how amazing my drawing skills are with my eyes closed.

Gronkling

I love this sort of game!

Well you can sort of see it's eyes...  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/tongue.gif" alt=":P" title="Tongue" class="smiley" />

Adam

That's brilliant! http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/laugh.gif" alt=":D" title="Laugh" class="smiley" />

I've just seen your ImageShack username.. I recognise it from Serebii, would I be right there?

Gronkling

Yes, I go on the serebii forums occasionally (but haven't posted much). Thats my old username that I used for everything in 2007-2008.  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/laugh.gif" alt=":D" title="Laugh" class="smiley" />

Adam

I didn't even bother signing up, so you're one step ahead of me! http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/tongue.gif" alt=":P" title="Tongue" class="smiley" />

Gronkling

I've only posted 3 times so it's extremely suprising that you recognised my name.  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/shocked.gif" alt=":o" title="Shocked" class="smiley" />

Splootle stuck in my mind for some reason.

You can select colors for both mouse buttons before drawing anything.

My very poor attempt http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" class="smiley" />

Still looks cute if you ask me!

geoo

You can select colors for both mouse buttons before drawing anything.
My Paint can't do that, you should be disqualified. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/tongue.gif" alt=":P" title="Tongue" class="smiley" /> (Especially as your cat looks too awesome.)

Below is my attempt. (It's from the backside, in case you don't recognize.)

Matt

Here be my attempt.  I used my Bamboo Pen tablet, so idk if that is cause for disqualification or not.  But it WAS done with my eyes closed.

Okay, it's been about a week.. taking everything into account, I think I'm going to declare Simon the winner here - the use of two colours swayed it for me!

Simon

Hmmm, thanks. :-) There were a couple of great other ones as well.

New Challenge: Draw (with the restriction explained afterwards) the cute chameleon couple from DragonsLover's http://lemmings-db.camanis.net/level/agpsZW1taW5ncy0zchwLEglMZXZlbFBhY2sYxg8MCxIFTGV2ZWwY0A8M/screenshot" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">levelpack Mikepack 14, level 8:

You can do a variation on the theme if you like. Bonus points for heart-shaped tails and likewise gimmicks. The dubious twist to the challenge is the following time restriction:

  • Set a timer. Stop painting 30 seconds after you start.
  • You may set up the palette, hotkeys, canvas size, ... ahead of the 30 seconds countdown, if necessary.
  • After the 30 seconds have run out, you may only crop/resize the image, save it, and upload it.

If you have Flash, you can use http://www.online-stopwatch.com/countdown-timer/" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">online-stopwatch.com, it will play a sound when the countdown has finished.

I am going to do this later today as well.
