Hello,
I'm building a new level in lemmix editor.
I can't find out houw to make real steel out of a steel "element"
lemmings can dig/bash through it...

You need to make a steel area over it. I'm not quite sure how this is done in Lemmix, though, I've always been a LemEdit person.
My projects
2D Lemmings: NeoLemmix (engine) | Lemmings Plus Series (level packs) | Doomsday Lemmings (level pack)
3D Lemmings: Loap (engine) | L3DEdit (level / graphics editor) | L3DUtils (replay / etc utility) | Lemmings Plus 3D (level pack)
Non-Lemmings: Commander Keen: Galaxy Reimagined (a Commander Keen fangame)

I did that (appears a a blue square, which I gave the correct size)
still one can bash through it...

It should actually work like you did, i.e. creating a steel area and placing it at the same position as some terrain.

There are a few instances where you have to take care:
  • Steel will usually not stay entirely intact, e.g. bombers can remove a bit of it if they explode outside of the steel area, bashers can remove the top layer of it if they're positioned only slightly below the steel area.
  • Trigger areas, e.g. water, one-way-walls, traps, as well as blockers, overwrite the steel.
  • If the steel is very thin, the first check of the basher might already be beyond the steel area, thus ignoring it.

Try making your steel area a bit larger, especially towards the top, and see if it happens again.

Btw, nice 5th level pack you made, your design have always been artistic, and this one is no exception.

thanks, I remember indeed... it must have some overlap (lemedit)
I'll try.

And thanks for the compliment http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/thumbsup.gif" alt="" title="Thumbs Up" class="smiley" />

But as it is in the original games:
the puzzle must be packed in a visual attractive way.
That's part of the challenge...

I'm working on my first new level now (see the beginning of it), maybe Bart will also start again, but it's a hell of a job to do it right...
