Got a bit of a situation with bizarre information going around. Click the link below, it's a link to a YouTube vid. But specifically, check out the comments by KingOfTehJs... something seems wrong.

He argues that the Special graphics levels came in a rerelease of Lemmings. I dispute that, because it contradicts Mike Dailly's own story and also would mean the Amiga version compared to the DOS and Atari ST (nearest releases at the time) had them and the Amiga one didn't. Makes no sense.

So have a read, and if you can shed some light on this, post it in response to the comments there. Also post here.

Seriously, doesn't make sense to only include the special graphics levels in a rerelease. If anything, they'd be REMOVED in a rerelease to save space on disks.
This Lemmings forum is simply *fabulous*!

I've played the Amiga version.  It had them.  It was just the video game console re-releases that didn't.

Tsyu

The "budget" version of Amiga Lemmings (which I think was released later) lacked the special levels so the game could fit on one floppy.

Tsyu: agree plus plus. But try telling that to the guy in the comments of that URL I posted, who is insistent the RErelease has the special graphics, rather than the original. :/

Dullstar: not quite. The 16-bit generation mainstream consoles have the special levels (although they're squashed in a bit for the Mega Drive/Genesis version, owing to how the levels are narrower there).

I put a blunt comment in under username ThePerfectKiosk. Should clear things up.

If not, I have my methods... (-:

I guess there must have been more 16 bit ports than I though, eh?
I know THOSE ports have them.
