LOTY 2017 has finally ended and the winner is: Flopsy's "Band of Merry Lemmings" (SEB Lems Stormy 1)

The runner up level was: Flopsy's "Medieval Mystery Zone" (SEB Lems Murder 17)

As in order to determine the next placed person I would need to set up a completely new big voteoff round between all other remaining Phase 3 contestants, the 2nd place money (7,50 USD) will be donated to the site to benefit our cause. :)

See you soon in LOTY 2018. ;)

A big congratulations to you Flopsy for your LOTY win!

Also congrats to everyone else that had a level nominated. So many great levels in 2017 and there was even more to get excited for in 2018 and many years to come.

Congratulations to Flopsy not only for the win, but for completely dominating the contest overall. :O

I didn't play a lot of 2017 content, so I wasn't really able to vote, or have opinions on many of the levels. In regards to (some of) my levels that got nominated though:
This one was a bit of a surprise to see nominated. I have to wonder if the level's placement in the pack may have been a factor here - it's probably one of the last levels many players encounter before the pack gets too hard for them.

I'm really surprised that this one got nominated. I consider it to be almost, by LPO2 standards, just a filler level.
EDIT: No, my bad, I was confusing this with another level (Coarse 9 "Deep Exploration"). Flooded Shaft is fair enough that it got in, though I'm not surprised it didn't do too well.

While this is a level I quite like, I didn't expect it to become a LOTY nominee at all, let alone be one of my best-performing levels in it.

I knew this level was going to be a strong LOTY contender, wasn't surprised at all with how it played out.

Seeing this level perform poorly was actually a huge factor in me deciding it's time to tone down the difficulty for LPVI - because feedback I've gotten from those who have solved it has been among the most positive I've gotten on any of my levels, so the logical explanation is the high difficulty is why it didn't do well.

Interestingly, this one did better than Drawing Dead, despite being perhaps my only level so far that's harder than it. It's possible this came down to what levels it was up against, though.

Lemmings Plus final levels always seem to get nominated, but not do too well. No surprises here.

I found it interesting that despite not winning the contest, this level got nominated. But in all honesty, it is by far my favorite of my non-pack levels.
Don't know when you're going to read it, but congratulations from me as well!

In fact, Stormy 01 is the next level I have to play, since I just finished "When the storm has blown over"! ;) (Skipped a bunch of the levels before, though.)
My packs so far:
Lemmings World Tour (New & Old Formats), my music-themed flagship pack, 320 levels - Let's Played by Colorful Arty
Lemmings Open Air, my newest release and follow-up to World Tour, 120 levels
Paralems (Old Formats), a more flavour-driven one, 150 levels

Flopsy also requested to donate his winnings to the site as well, so the entire $22.50 of prize money went towards the site.

Thanks for this - that's slightly over four months worth of site costs. :)

A level featuring a cool solution and a nice-but-not-overdone amount of decoration. It was really fun to watch the solution in Arty's SEBLems Let's Play.

Well done, Flopsy!

Strato Incendus

I think it's part of the appeal of this level that it isn't too overly challenging. I still haven't solved several levels in the second half of the Revolution rank, but I did solve "Band of Merry Lemmings" pretty quickly. If the rest of the Stormy rank is like that, it's going to be a lot more fun than what came beforehand!

I gotta ask though, who was the one who enjoyed these two of my radiation-based levels from Pit Lems ("Controlled overload" and "Get a foothold") enough to nominate them? :D Flopsy at this point basically immediately quits any level featuring a radiation object at first sight... so there has to be some "soul mate" here who likes nuclear stuff in Lemmings, perhaps even more than I do!
