After participating in Lix multiplayer sessions I think the time has come to start making my own maps!

I made a thread for it... like all the cool kids are doing now-a-days :lix-cool:

The Abandoned Sanctuaries

Overtime: 0:50
Players: 2, 4, 6, and 8

A map loosely based on my NeoLemmix level "The Abandoned Sanctuary".

The lix find themselves deep within a cave with strange structures in them. Time and space bends in on itself, allowing an infinite amount of these strange structures in both directions. Are these places really a sanctuary, or some strange underground and forgotten prison?

To survive this map you must guide your lix to the next "sanctuary" to the right of the sanctuary where they initially spawn. There are several ways to go about this: you can go over your structure which is slower but safer, you can go through the bottom which is faster but risky, or you can just go left until you reach your exit which is not recommended.

They aren't really one-way arrows, just one-way gadgets trying to prevent the player from bashing the other way.
In single player they are usually quite effective due to the limited skill set; in multiplayer maybe less so, e.g. this map,
I'm pretty sure it's possible to go through the gadget at the right of the hatches with some builder/miner spamming.

Sorry, I couldn't help chuckling at your reaction here :lix-laugh:, but no Lix does not have one-way walls. The arrows I made were just purely for decoration to point you in the direction you have to or can go in. For example, on the top floor you can't bash to the right so the arrows point you to the left. On the first floor you can go to the left but the arrows point to the right, because that's the direction of your exit.

Unfortunately as geoo mentioned you can easily cheat that with the excess amount of skills you have in multiplayer. Not sure how to fix this yet :lix-suspicious:

EDIT: I could technically reduce the amount of builders you have significantly and rise some steel platforms next to the exits to allow a lix to easily platform through them.

Transportation beams (permanent, but slow flingers) enforce a direction. That is okay unless the gadget should become two-way-traversable after you remove its terrain.

Reducing builders would be delicate, that would need testing.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I have made some updates to "The Abandoned Sanctuaries":

- Increased number of Batters to 10, reduced number of lix to 80, and slightly increased overtime to 0:50
- Added a 2, 4, 6, and 8 player map.
- Completely sealed off the wall to the right of the hatch, but a lix can still access it from the top to enter another player's sanctuary for sabotage
- Added stairs on top of each structure to reduce the number of builders needed to go the "top route"
- Added a gap on top of the columns for climber lix access to sabotage

All maps can also now be downloaded from the original post.
