[New format only] Silhouette tileset

Colorful Arty

At long last, I can finally release this tileset!

The silhouette features a whole lot of black, and boy does it look cool! The reason this tileset took so long to release was because of the need for custom lemming sprites. Now that the new format supports them, the set is complete and ready to go!

This tileset contains a handful of pieces that are pitch black to allow you to create many different structures. The terrain list will be expanded in the future. The Lemmings are also pure black to match the environment, but the objects are a dark grey, to help distinguish them from everything else. These include an entrance, exit, shredder, water, flag, and a very fast teleporter/receiver.

Thanks Nessy! That level was originally a Hell level using the pipes and balls for the notes, but it looks much better in this tileset! Also, those notes make out the first bit of the song that plays on the level, so the terrain was kind of made for me! :D

Flopsy

Me and Wafflem have discovered a slight annoyance in this tileset, well it's only an annoyance if you want it to be but I'm going to assume this would annoy a lot of people.

The steel pieces in your tileset have transparent areas in the bolts which means overlaying them with general terrain means that the steel effectively becomes invisible in this tileset unless you use clear physics.

It's only apparent because Wafflem sent me a terrain layout for this level for me to make a solution out of for out MegSEBytes sequel and I'm putting steel down over the terrain and they just blend into the terrain and the bolts are not visible.

I'm not sure whether you intended this with the tileset, but we're not sure whether this is needed to be fixed or not.

Oof, that's a good point Flopsy; I didn't think of that. I think I'll just make the bolt a greyish-white color instead of transparent.

First update to the Silhouette tileset. Changes include:

Three new pieces of terrain (some lumpy hills, and two new ramps)
The steel no longer has transparent bolts, but rather white bolts, to ensure steel stands out even on other terrain. (Thanks to Flopsy for catching this.

The initial post has the updated files.

Thanks for the fix Arty, as soon as I can open the editor again. I'll be able to confirm whether it's working or not.

First of all amazing tileset! :thumbsup: I found a few bugs in it and I wanted to make a quick post here about them to bring them to your attention :)

1) When a lemming turns into a fencer the entire lemming and fencer animation turns into a solid black rectangle. However, it might be an issue with the fencer_mask.png file instead of the actual fencer.png file.

2) The grass.png, small_slope.png, and long_slope.png terrain pieces have a white background on them that is brighter than the slight grayish background this tileset has as the background color, so it sticks out.

So anyway those were the only things I found while working in this tileset. Just wanted to let you know :)

The mask files in lemming graphics are only needed if the lemming graphic has segments that recolor based on the graphic set (such as the destruction particles in the basher, miner and digger sprites). For these lemming sprites, there doesn't need to be any xxxx_mask.png files at all.

Fixed the problems Nessy found. The next NeoLemmix version should have the updated style.
