These posts are up now, so I need to mention: To keep importing them as simple as possible, the raw HTML has been imported rather than converting it back to BBCode, as this is, while not impossible, a very difficult task that would severely delay the import.

This will only matter if you need to edit (or quote) one of these posts later. In the event that you do need to do such, the following web-based tool should assist with converting the message back to BBCode:

As for linking old posts to user accounts - this will be done over the next few days (and from previous experience with the move, you can probably guess - this actually means "later today or maybe tomorrow at the latest").

Okay, the majority of posts have been linked to accounts. If there are any that aren't that you'd like to get linked, send me a PM with:

1) A link to a post that hasn't been linked to the account - you don't need to link me to *every* post, as long as they all have the same username with them
2) If it's not yours, then a link to the profile (or the *exact* username) of the person who's post it is

I'll give it a while for these to be sorted out before fixing the post counts.

ALSO: I won't be able to link posts from the older forums that are under a generic name such as "Guest", unless there are only a VERY small number of them. If they were posted as a guest but with an identifiable username (eg: "Bob (not logged in)"), then I can.

It does NOT matter if you weren't yet registered at the time of the transfer. Your posts can still be transferred once you've made an account.



There's also a few more-specific boards than there were before, and as such, some topics may need to be moved. I've temporarily allowed users to move their own posts to different boards. Please *don't* use the option to create the topic announcing the move.



Finally, if there are any posts with missing attachments, then:

> If it actually has a message saying "attachments are missing", then they'll need to be manually downloaded and re-added from the old site. I plan to dig out all of these and fix them myself, but in the meantime, if they're *your* posts, you can edit them and reupload the attachments.

In the latter case, to avoid having to fix up the code (changing from HTML to BBCode), just wrap the post with [html][/html] tags.

Just a suggestion for when you're done transferring all of the posts, but you might want to update people's post count to go with their amount of posts from the previous website. It might be quite a bit of work, so you don't have to(as I said, it's just a suggestion), but it might be strange seeing hundreds of posts from a user, but the user only has a post count of five.

Possibly with this would come the karma thing, but I don't think this is really necessary.

Post counts is a known issue and will be dealt with at some point very soon; I'm just giving it a bit longer for people to get posts attached to their accounts.

Karma would be quite tricky to transfer over (or time-consuming if done manually) so for that, I think it's best to just start again from zero.

I've attached far more of the older posts to the appropriate usernames, and fixed the post counts accordingly.

I wasn't aware of who some of the following usernames corresponded to (or in some cases, they simply don't have an account here). If anyone knows who any of these are (and they do have an account here), please let me know:

Ice_Eagle = Burned (seems this one hasn't carried over? Was definitely on the last forum)

Also, there's a bunch of variant names that more than likely are the same person (eg. dumb_lem = dumb lem).

Using admin tools here and the January database backup from the old forum, I can confirm that Ice_Eagle is here. However, given that no one seemed to realise the user in question is Ice_Eagle until now, I'm guessing they don't want it made public that they and Ice_Eagle are the same person, so until/unless they say otherwise, I won't link the posts.

The rest of those have been linked to the accounts and removed from the list. Also, to make things easier, I sorted the list into alphabetical order.

These are both members from the previous incarnation of the forum.

When I volunteered to bring over the attachments that didn't transfer correctly, I also moved a post of grosssmutttr's into the Other Projects section. That was someone who was looking for beta testers for a Lemmings-style game.

Zaphod77 was the one who made the Amiga-ized version of the Lemmix players. He was a very recent registration so wouldn't've been automatically transferred (as I could only do this for users who were in the January database backup), and doesn't seem to have registered here yet. Actually, to be honest, I hadn't seen him online for a while before this anyway.
