Lemmings pixel-cake

[Prob Lem]

There was an occasion that called for a celebration cake recently, and my mother baked this;

Maybe it's the quality of the photo but I can't help thinking that the cakes look rather like kitchen sink sponges. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/undecided.gif" alt=":-\" title="Undecided" class="smiley" />  I'm sure it looks (and tastes, hopefully! http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/winktounge.gif" alt=";P" title="Wink-Tongue" class="smiley" /> ) much better in real life.

Spongecake, man. Looks exactly like a sponge. Tastes exactly like an awesome.

For what it's worth, the "pixels" tasted great - as namida notes, these were pretty typical sponge-cake pieces. These had a little bit of a vanilla kick to them from the colouring gels, too, which made them even better.
