a few months ago Firefox just randomly stopped working properly on my PC, it glitched, crashed and became slow. E.g. every click or type or movement of the window up or down happens 2 seconds after I click. Firefox is now so sluggish it's totally unusable.

Anyone else have this or a similar problem? I've tried reinstalling multiple times. I've updated. I've updated windows (7). I'm sure there's more I could try I just haven't thought of it yet. I've checked for viruses, though Lord knows that test coming up negative doesn't mean Jack s***. So I've had to use Opera and Chrome. I don't really like Opera, and I only use Chrome for youtube, cause I like keeping all my youtube stuff separate from everything else

oh yeah on another note: I used to also use seamonkey; but even before the above; that TOTALLY broke. Some websites (like this one) refused to load at all while others loaded fine. ??

I have btw, tried searching google for this problem, but [at least at the time] I could not find anything!

Do you use any add-ons in Firefox? Often, the first step in trying to figure out where instability is coming from, is to disable all of those that you happen to use, and then flip them back on one by one and see what happens.

Also, when reinstalling, have you made sure that any residual files that might have been left behind were removed before doing so?

I often forget this step-- idiotic windows program uninstall fails to do this. Now it's working, thanks ProbLem!!  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/thumbsup.gif" alt="" title="Thumbs Up" class="smiley" />  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/thumbsup.gif" alt="" title="Thumbs Up" class="smiley" />
