I figure that there's probably some love for rodents in general around here - aside from our green-haired hominid rodent friends, of course - so here's a poll to see which rodents are the most popular*. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/tongue.gif" alt=":P" title="Tongue" class="smiley" />

*Within the limits of the poll system, of course, so there are only five options. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" class="smiley" />

EDIT: As suggested by ccexplore, here are Wikipedia links to the five rodents included;

Voted for mouse, but http://thesuicidalrodents.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=lieuchat&action=display&thread=49" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">here's the real deal. :]

I'm going to have to do another poll, aren't I? http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/tongue.gif" alt=":P" title="Tongue" class="smiley" />

Why is there no hamster option...

Out of the available options, I have to say capybara simply because of the name.

Because the poll feature only allows for five items, and I thought of hamsters after mice, rats, degus, jerboas, and capybaras, haha. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/laugh.gif" alt=":D" title="Laugh" class="smiley" />

I was torn between those and mice. http://gianthamster.com/tag/pet-capybara/" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">They're pretty amazing.

Seriously, when it comes to rodents, bigger is better. So capybara is a no-brainer.
And they are very relaxed, and their muzzle looks nice and rectangular.

I don't understand why mouse is so popular...maybe some people only know mice and rats out of the choices, and unsurprisingly prefer mice over rats? http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/tongue.gif" alt=":P" title="Tongue" class="smiley" /> Degus way better than mice, http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cb/Octodon_degus_-Artis_Zoo%2C_Netherlands-8b.jpg" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">very social and know how to program in R.

Perhaps the first post on this thread should have Wikipedia links to all the rodents so even the laziest can actually get a quick glance at what some of the less-known options are like.

Good idea! I have no idea why I never thought of that. http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/tongue.gif" alt=":P" title="Tongue" class="smiley" />
