Mr. K

Anyone else think the background music in the chorus of this song kinda resembles the 1st Lemmings music (in DOS version, I mean).

The first time I heard this song I was like, "OMFG. LEMMINGS."

Now it's not so close but it still reminds me of it. :/

There's no way the music could be inspired by the song, since the song is much newer, but the reverse is definately possible. :/

(Warning: Emo video, although the song's not so bad)

The first few notes on the bass sound like the lemmings tune, but then it diverges. I'd say it's just a coincidence - given the vast amount of music out there, some of it is bound to sound similar.

Having said that, there is a classical piece on the Civilization IV soundtrack that bears some resemblance (even more so than the Blackcherry song IMO) to the lemmings track. This one was also written after lemmings was out (1993, lemmings was made in 1991). It's by John Adams, who is also responsible for much of the other music in Civ IV.

Chaconne: Body through which the dream flows (this is just a preview, but the rest sounds fairly similar so you should get the idea)

I didnt even hear any lemmings tunes in that song... :(

I like dragons! They're the center of my life! I'll never forget them...

I can see where you thought the similarity was, but really it's just the (kinda generic) chord progression which I've heard it in many other songs as well.

Chmera

The chord progression in the Lemmings tune was probably originally taken from Pachelbel's Canon. As K said, it's pretty generic. Copied by a lot of songs.
