I wasn't sure if this was the best place to post this. Just wanted to say hello. I've been a lurker on the forums for a little while, and I figured it was about time I actually made an appearance. I don't know if the forums have been quite quiet lately... it's difficult to tell sometimes.

I've been a Lemmings fan forever, having completed the original Lemmings, ONML and Lemmings 2: The Tribes. Until recently I didn't even know that a level-creating community existed, which I'm really happy about, because it means that a classic game can live on indefinitely thanks to its fans. I don't have LemEdit myself, but I do own the PS2/PSP version *winces with embarrassment* which has a makeshift level editor on it. I know this is a PC-Lemmings-dominated forum and that it's probably not my place to big up the PS2 version, but I think it's a very good port. Plus it's got a built-in editor, which is a huge bonus for me. I've created 38 levels so far and I hope to get them online in the near future.

I can tell I'm rambling now, so I'll end it there. Just saying hi.

*waves*

Welcome Weirdy :)

We always can use Lemmings fans. Sometimes it's quiet, sometimes it's not. But mostly it's quiet out here.
Try Lemmix, my level editor. It's in alpha/beta stage and you have to edit the ini-file, but for the rest I'm quite proud of it. I hope that in the coming year version 1.0 will be ready.
There are lots of levels to play if you search the Lemmings File Portal, for example, or Garjen's site.

Hi. Thanks for the welcome. I've actually downloaded all the level packs from the Lemmings File Archive, and I'm working my way through them.  Should keep me going for some time. Some of them are insanely difficult... or at least, I find them to be. I'm afraid I still haven't learnt all the tricks of the trade when it comes to Lemmings skills.

I'll take a look at Lemmix.

Can Lemmix run the custom-made level packs, like Customised Lemmings?

Well, hey dude. It's nice to see new people around. I'm the newest regular, unfortunately... And I turned up over a year ago. Well over. So yeah, it'd be nice if you stuck around. I'm not that into levelling and such. I take a creative bent to it more than anything else. Check out the Fan Area. Pleeeaaase.

I intend to stick around, at least for the time being...  :P First, huge huge thanks to EricLang for Lemmix - it's fantastic, plus it runs my downloaded level packs a lot better than before...

Today I just completed my 40th Lemmings level on the PS2 level editor. Perhaps one day I'll translate them into DOS format with Lemmix.  :) In the meantime, I'll be enjoying all the levels everyone here has created.

It's totally brilliant. Thanks for the levels, thanks for the editor, thanks for the welcome and thanks for the community. Lemmings lives!

Thanks very much!
If you could provide me with all the terrains and objects etc. that would be fantastic. Dont know if that is possible.

The PS2 game uses a whole new set of pre-rendered graphics, although they are based on the original Amiga/DOS version, just a bit spruced up. I don't think I'd be able to do a direct translation. I'd just have to do it all by hand, which would be a lengthy process. Luckily I have screenshots - as well as the levels drawn on paper (!) if I ever decided to do it. Until then I'll just be happy to get them onto the PSP/PS2 Lemmings network and see what people think.
