Much like how a sound was added to indicate a lemming dying when they reach the bottom of the screen for convenience purposes, the same should apply when a lemming is infected by a zombie.

They should probably make some sort of deep grumbling noise when the zombie infects them.

If someone can find a suitable sound effect, I'll slip it in right away. Otherwise, I'll keep this in mind and look for one at some point.

Some variation of "braaaaaaaaaains" seems like an obvious (if a little silly) choice. ;P  Maybe you can record yourself doing that.

It would need to be something that doesn't have the player reaching for the mute key when it plays rapidly a few dozen times in succession....

namida

If it's playing rapidly a few dozen times in succession, chances are you're only milliseconds away from hearing the failure jingle instead anyway... :P

please no, that's too silly for me. I'd rather have some more animal, guttural sound effect.

Actually... I can look through some folders of mine, I might be able to find something or make something here.

Okay, I think I clearly need to add an "/s". :XD:

As silly as it does sound at first, I can't quite put the finger on why it'd be worse than, say, "oh no" for each and every lemming about to explode. :-\

Also, I'd still say recording yourself may be worth a try in this case, even if you go with something less silly.  It wouldn't surprise me if actual "professional" zombie sound effects were made just like that.

Not bad! 8-) Someone could play around with adjusting the pitch or applying filters with a suitable audio editing program for further tweaking, but even as-is it holds promise.  Anyway, will wait and see what others think.

Wafflem

I tested this by playing the sound from VLC Media player while I have a zombie infect a lemming in-game.

It sounds weird. I like it! :) As ccexplore said, the sound can be improved by pitch adjustments or adding filters. Perhaps you can slightly lower the pitch?

I actually slightly increased the pitch, to give it a more Lemming-y sound, when I made it. I could lower it a bit if people think that works better...
