Many years ago we had created a network multiplayer Lemmings-like game for PC because we really wanted to play such a game, and no one else had done it.  Some of you might have tried it out, the name of the game is Clones.  Over the past 2 years we were lucky to receive some funding to assist us in making Clones a polished product.

We are very close to releasing a public demo and i was hoping that some of you would want to help beta test the demo before we make it public.  It contains 4 multiplayer and 4 singleplayer levels.  The focus of the beta testing will be on the multiplayer experience although feedback on singleplayer would be great also.

After the demo is released i will post again to request beta testers to help find leaks/backroutes for the hardest singleplayer puzzles in the game.  I understand that not everyone will be willing or able to do this, so ideally any players who enjoyed the mayhem levels from Lemmings would be a perfect fit.

You can view our current youtube promo video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uM9ovqSQ-dI" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uM9ovqSQ-dI (watch in HD)

Please email to info @ clonesgame.com if you are interested in testing out the public demo and we will supply you with the download link.  Thank you and have a nice day!

Awesome!  It would be great to test out the 8-player map if we could co-ordinate enough people.  The level is arranged in a circle with two groups per gravity such that each group has the same path to their exit. That also means that 2 people can play the map from 7 different angles.

Thanks to geoo for testing the multiplayer levels, he has a high level of skill and the matches got pretty intense.  I think i am going to render a few of the playbacks out to video and post them on youtube.
Feedback on the few singleplayer levels is excellent, however there is one level included that no one has beaten yet and i wonder if it's the new game mode style which is causing trouble, or just the difficulty of the puzzle.  It might need to be tweaked for the public release.
We would still love more feedback so please let me know if you'd like to help.

Correction to my above post: users geoo and djinnguru were able to solve the level "Freefall" which uses the new Quantum Loop mode (with two different solutions http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/smiley.gif" alt=":)" title="Smiley" class="smiley" />)
We've made a number of tweaks based on the feedback over the last week and have released an updated beta demo with a superior multiplayer experience.
This may be the final beta before the public release so if anyone would like to contribute comments please contact me for the download information.  Being Lemmings fans makes your feedback very important to us.  Thanks.

I'd help test if I weren't in the middle of so many other things.  If it were summer though, I would test.  I just don't think with school and the longplays I'm working on, plus games I'm already trying to beat, I won't have time.  I can possibly test later this month, though, so if you want me to test it, let me know.

Thanks to everyone from these forums that was able to help beta test the demo!  There was a lot of excellent feedback which we either addressed or incorporated into the game. We've wrapped up version 1 of the demo which contains:
* 5 Singleplayer puzzles showcasing 3 different game modes
* 4 Multiplayer levels (3 game modes)
* CloneStats enabled (top scores are posted on website)
* Replay your solutions and view other players solutions
* Touchscreen mode

If you have any questions or comments, please post them in our forums.

Thanks!
Have a clonetastic day!

We are now seeking beta testers to play through the singleplayer component of Clones.  There are well over 100 puzzles (across 11 CloneMasters bosses) that need leak-testing and feedback to improve the experience.

You do NOT have to play all of the levels to contribute.  In fact, choosing 2 or 3 of the CloneMasters (20-40 levels) will be very helpful to us and more manageable to you.  In particular we need volunteers to:
- perform leak-testing (backroute) for the 4 hardest CloneMasters
- play tutorial level and provide playability feedback
- ensure "easy" boss battles are easy enough

As a beta tester you will be able to skip levels in case there is an error in the puzzle which makes it unsolvable.

The next round of beta testing will be for the built-in editor.

Please contact us at info @ clonesgame.com if you are interested in helping to beta test.  Thanks!  http://www.lemmingsforums.com/Smileys/lemmings/thumbsup.gif" alt=":thumbsup:" title="Thumbs Up" class="smiley" />
