Thanks a ton for the quick reply kaywhyn. I actually went and looked in the folder for an .ini file but completely missed it. Now I'm all ready to go

Judging by your discussion in this thread I assume you can go fullscreen with Loap but I can't find any success with trying this. No settings or ALT+ENTER not working for me. Am I missing something here?

Love how easy it was to get going otherwise, having nostalgia overload right now.

Live Event Scheduling / Lemmings 2 stream coming up!
December 26, 2021, 05:00:32 PM
Hi all,

I'm streaming every Sunday (19:00 / 7:00 pm CEST) on Twitch, mainly doing retro- and indie games on there. Mostly it's just an excuse to sit there and have a great talk with the community that drops by most of the occasions.

Today (in about 1 hour) I'm planning on doing a winter theme on the stream so we'll play the winter levels on Lemmings 2 (SNES) followed by the start of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (Julius Mode, there's snow in the beginning there too).

Lemmings-wise I also have emotes, subscriber badges and even sounds from the game appearing on stream. Come by and say hi if you just want to hang out for a bit.

I am also very curious about an explanation for all of these.

Wimpy 4 - Saviour

Lemmings: 80
Save: 64
Release Rate: 50
Skills: 10 of every skill

Good: The name of the level directly reflects the solution which I really like. The flow of first trying to save the Lemmings to the right while also making the Lemmings to the left turn around is really good and fits the beginning of Wimpy very good.
Bad: Maybe a little too many Lemmings that can die during the level? Since we have so many skills in our arsenal it would be fun to let the player get creative in saving a few more lemmings instead of killing of the hero Lemming without any doubt.

Great video Flopsy, just had a trip down memory lane looking at it while remembering the struggle at many of the levels mentioned in the video. Will have a look at the one you made for the original Lemmings as well.

Lemmings Main / Re: The Lemmings The Ports Book

You are one madman Jaycee900 for releasing this book for free! I have just gave it a quick glimpse for the first time and it seems like a really fun read. It's a shame I missed the physical print though since I would have had this book just to be able to look at the images alone in a physical format. Amazing work! All the corrections found by Leo was really good work as well, not bad.

Quotejust completed Medi 8 which is by far my favorite level so far

It's very interesting that you say that; as at one point, that level actually got removed from the pack due to it being considered (by me) "low quality". It was later restored when I made some further alterations to the pack at one point (Danger 28 is another level that got restored at that time). Although in its original form, Medi 8 had 7 of everything, not 6.

That's quite interesting to hear indeed! I guess it's often quite personal when a level pack starts to "click" with the player as everyone are at different skill levels and enjoys different type of puzzles. Glad you got it in again!

Just a heads up as well, we've continued with the review in the thread that Nepster linked to. Be sure to join us there everyone!

Let's continue doing this after all years of inactivity!

Wimpy 1 - Lemming Net
50 lemmings
50% (25) to be saved
Release Rate 75
15 of each skill

Good: I like the compact feel of the level and that the Lemmings have to cross the net (as the name implies) from the west nest to the right one.

Bad: It's A LOT easier than the previous level and any of the solutions doesn't really feel satisfying. The metal blocks in the top doesn't seem to fit that well and I would like the level a lot more if the Lemmings could actually die from falling through the small crack in them (even though it teaches the player about that stars in Lemmings can be walked on).

Like you guys say it's a very good pack made by Namida! I'm chugging on and just completed Medi 8 which is by far my favorite level so far as it had me wondering for a little while (while still convincing me that the solution was within my grasp). Since the engine is a lot more flexible than the one found on the SNES (which is the one I'm used to) the levels also require more use of really tight timings which I'm quite fond off. I love the fact that one can go back a few frames in case a silly mistake was made near the end of the level with letting a builder drown or something like that. I always was more fond of planning my route through the levels in Lemmings rather then perfecting the execution, this suits me better.

Edit: Also, has there been any review threads made for the Plus levels? I couldn't find anything with the search function and it would be fun to see what you guys think of the levels as well.

Thank to this thread I started to play Lemmings (NeoLemmix) for the first time in like forever as well, I'm grateful for the sudden burst of inspiration Shrung. I'm currently going through the first Lemmings Plus-pack included and has completed all the levels up to Wimpy 12 (I believe). The last few levels are the first that have really needed more than two seconds of thought so hopefully the difficulty ramps up soon to a level that suits me (which will probably go fast as I'm not very experienced with Lemmings outside of the two first games and 3D).

Lemmings Main / The future of the Lemmings series
February 03, 2016, 08:34:02 PM
The activity on the forum have been extremely quiet as of late so I thought I would try to spice things up a little bit.

What do you guys think of the future of the Lemmings series? Lemmings Touch kind of came from nowhere, although it wasn't the best the series had to offer it was still a decent entry in the series. Will we see more games like that or will Sony (I think it's them that holds the right to the series now, right?) bring something new to the table with the series?

Personally I would like something along the lines with Lemmings 2 where they stick to the old formula but giving us new options to play around with which made many of the levels quite unique in a new way, I still think there are a ton of potential if we leave the old and tried classic Lemmings' formula.
