Yes, they're working. They don't use normal codes like :) or :P ... but they are there, and I could change them. Also, most smileys put into posts before these are messed up now, so if you see someone say, for instance, Razz in a post, there was a smiley there.
All the extra smilies (Mike's, the signs, etc.) are availabe in posts if you click [more].

Am I the only person to be disappointed at the lack of "normal" smileys? I mean, apart from :tongue: and :cool: it's hard to use the Lemmings ones because they don't express any particular emotion........
They do. You have to look close to the eyes, as the Lemmings-mouth is hiden behind the nose.

I have two suggestions. One is to fix the links to the following smilies: :D ;D ::) :-[ :-X :-* :embarassed:
That last one shouldn't even be there, as it is misspelled, and otherwise a duplicate of the previous.
My second suggestion is to change "cool" to something other than eight-parenthesis, because sometimes that represents the eightth in a list.
