I wanted to include my hi-res custom panel graphics with Lemminas V1.01, but I couldn't get it to work.
When I first tried it, the graphics did appear, but they were clearly twice the size that they should be, so I resorted to only putting the low-res versions in instead. This is fine, as they do get upscaled/resampled quite nicely by the player.
However, having asked if there was a way to include the HR versions as well, I was advised to add the suffix "-hr" to each of the graphics' filenames. I tried this to no avail.
If, for example, I keep the name "empty_slot", then the graphic appears but twice the size it should be. If I rename it to "empty_slot-hr", it doesn't appear at all.
On a similar note, I always preferred the old version of the skill panel icons, in particular for the Replay icon. The old "R" had a little glare / reflection on it, the new one looks quite dull. I always replace the panel icons with my preferred ones after every update; however, in high-res mode, I either have to use the new "dull" R, or the size is completely off.
I've attached the one I mean (the blue and red R for replay looks different, the rest is the same). I like these replay Rs because this glare is on all the standard Lemmings letters anyway, so I would like the replay icon to be consistent with that. ;)
Strato, try putting this into gfx>panel-hr. I've resized it using Nearest Neighbour so it's exactly like the low res one, but the correct size. It should then work in hi-res mode.
Thanks a lot, WillLem! Indeed, they work perfectly!
Just giving this a bump. Could it be something to do with the fact that the panel graphics actually have the same name as the original low-res versions, but are contained in a folder labelled "panel-hr"?
I tried copying the panel-hr folder into the levelpack's root folder, again - no joy.
As per a Discord discussion, resolved. This was a user-side error, but one that does hinge on something that may not be immediately obvious: A low-res copy of any panel graphics must be included; it's optional to then include a high-res one as well (with the upscaler kicking in if you don't).
