I've revamped the [link=http://it.travisbsd.org/lemmings/lemmingswelt/]Lemmings File Portal[/link]. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open to new ideas...
Use direct links for Downloads.
The problem with direct links is that they can be broken, for example, I plan to create directories for level packs, and cheapo stuff, and when I organize the files, the direct links will be broken... or if someone uploads a file to the wrong directory, and I move it...
I have uploaded something called lemedit3. It fixes the clock problem.
I didn't realize you have such prowess. ;) Can you e-mail me how you figure out what to do to fix the problem?
(To be fair, I didn't spend much time trying to figure out what the problem is, since I have many other priorities to deal with.)

Oh ok, apparently guest found a way to turn off the test completely.
I was hoping he might have found ways to actually make the program more responsive (especially on slower machines and when you save levels), but I guess not having to deal with that idiotic clock test will do for now. ;P
Now there's some sort of problem....it only works sometimes.
Well then maybe there's a reason for the test after all :p
Nice!
I suppose that only levels and Lemmings programs are accepted on your portals? I don't think you want other things... or maybe do you accept Lemmings related things like: Images, avatars and so on?
How would you link to a file on the protal without a specific url?
Mindless, could you delete lemedit3? I don't know what I did to it, it was late. I now have a version that really fixes the problem.
What's Lemedit3? Is it a a better version of Lemedit2?
The version on the portal now doesn't fix anything. When it's deleted I'll upload a version that really fixes the clock problem.
There shouldn't be a clock problem if it's used in DOSBox
Mindless, the portal only allows thing to be uploaded to the root directory. You might be fixing this now, but I'm just letting you know.

If the cycles are set too high, then there will be. The reason that this could be useful is because some people have the problem if the cycles are set to anything above 20. :P

Deleted.

X_X Um... my fault -- forgot to set directory write access.

Does anyone need the file lem.bmp? It's a bunch of fuzz. O_o
lemedit3 is up, and this time it works.

Ha! I've had the settings on
4 and it's still too high! (less than that and it doesn't work at all) To be fair though, it was the Mac OS X version, and it did work on the PC.
4!? Oh my..... Does lemedit3 work?

Haven't tried it just yet, but give me a few minutes.
edit: YES!! Thanks! It still runs deathly slow, though, that's the only problem.

Raise you cycles up to like 10000, or even up to 20000 if your machine is fast enough to handle it. See if that helps.

You may delete it. Leviathan uploaded it for me to download. It was the bitmap he was having problems with after conversion via myvgaspec (seems like the inferior compression in my program is finally leading to some undesirable problems in CustLemm, for certain bitmaps). Since I already downloaded it and presumably no one else wants it, go ahead and delete.
By all means,delete it :)
It's a rather big file and it was merely a test-bitmap :P

It was a wee bit faster, but still very jerky. This may have been (at least this time) to do with me running ten other programs at the same time, though. :P
