There have been a lot of excellent Lemmings levels in Mindless's
Lemmings Level Database, many of which have been used for the Community Compilation Pack
Revenge of the Lemmings. However, it seems that not all level packs are on the database, and have been scattered in various websites, most especially the VTM Levelpacks. Another issue with that is that most of these websites are old and could close down at any time, and this can be a problem when there are very good levels in those sites. Therefore, these packs deserve to be preserved in the database for old and new players alike. So, I've uploaded most of the packs to the Lemmings Level Database.
NOTE: All NeoLemmix packs in the Extended Format, and/or have NeoLemmix objects and/or gimmicks will be uploaded to
this database, due to possible compatibility issues.
Here is the list of authors of levels I've uploaded:
An older Lemmings Forums archive; unfortunately, almost all of the links of the level packs in there are broken:Andi

T3Tesla (since the one from an older version of Garjen is no longer available)
These are not all the levelpacks I found. I will be uploading more of the packs, and this list will be updated over time. If you know of a website, if I forgot a levelpack from a website, or if you spot any level packs with the wrong style, let me know. Thanks.
Known levelpacks that remain missing:Isu (Isupck01.dat, if he's uploaded it somewhere else)
Joe Sentinel (joem4.dat)
Lemmings Heaven 2009
SwissLems
It would also be nice if the NES Lemmings levels are also remade, but this can be very difficult.
Notes:
- Many of these levels could be used in another Lemmings Community Compilation Pack. They'll also very likely work for möbius's Project Capybara and especially the revamped version of Revenge of the Lemmings for Superlemmini.
- Some of the levels use the wrong graphic set. This can be remedied by changing the graphic set within the NeoLemmix editor. Alternatively, namida can convert graphic sets to use the Custlemm numbering using a certain code.
- Some authors don't have all their levelpacks uploaded in the original website, such as Isu, who only has had his second levelpack uploaded.
- Some packs and levels are by unknown authors, due to how I found them in my old hard drive; I got those from websites I can't remember.
- The name of this topic was inspired by Timid 8 of Lemmings Plus III, "Scatterlem", a pre-placed lemming tutorial in which ten lemmings are spread all over the level.
Credits:
Akseli for providing Eymerich's other pack and the Team Hell Spawn levelpack.
DynaLem for remaking Ohayo Lemming-san!
geoo for providing an archive of many of the levels and levelpacks.
Gronkling for providing the rest of his levelpacks.
Mindless for the Lemmings Level Database
namida for the NeoLemEdit and NeoLemmix Editor, as well as converting the levelpacks with the wrong graphic set and finding the right version of calepck1.dat
Tsyu for the other Genesis levels.
The websites themselves for originally providing the packs and levels.
Now that CustLemmix, NeoCustLemmix, Lemmini, SuperLemmini and Lix are released, try those packs in those games. Compare those to your experience when you played them in the DOS version of Custlemm.
If Mindless sees this, I have some suggestions for him to improve the Database:
1. As Luis said, there should be page number buttons.
2. There should also be a previous button.
3. Also display VGASPEC backgrounds in the levels.
4. Add support to namida's LPII, LPIII and SEGA styles, the NeoLemmix objects and the NeoLemmix Extended Format (although no levelpack with them has been uploaded yet).
You can do it in NeoLemEdit, or alternatively, with a hex editor (just edit the byte at 0x1B in the lvl).
That's a lot of levels. The database should have those number buttons to skip pages.
Another option: Send me the packs and info on what needs to be corrected (eg. change PackA from ONML numbering to CustLemm numbering) and Ill write a bit of code to quickly do it.
Database updated.
Updated:
calepck1 is updated with the right graphic sets (with one of the levels which wasn't in the older version). Thanks to namida for finding this version.
New:
t3tesla from an older version of the Garjen website (which I found on my hard drive, since it's no longer available on Garjen through archive.org. Thanks to namida for converting the pack's graphic sets)
JM
Lars van Oostrum (again, the name is based on his e-mail)
MCMarshy
I had a go at playing some of the VTM. I must say, when I first got into custom levels, I found a lot of these to be extremely hard - but looking at them now, they're actually (mostly, at least so far) awfully simple. xD
By the way - one of the levels in CalePck1 is impossible under Lemmix, due to it not handling negative Y coordinates of objects correctly - one of the windows is placed at a Y position of -1, which Lemmix interprets as a Y coordinate of 65535 and thus places it very far below the bottom of the level, causing any lemmings released from it to instantly die. (NeoLemmix does not have any such problem, it was fixed in a very early version - I think before I even started putting version numbers on it. Though I'm not sure if NeoLemmix's steel mechanics might present a problem on the same level.)
Which level on calepck1 is it?
More levelpacks added to the database:
Isu (Note: Only the second pack exists. If there is a first pack, please let me know. Thanks)
Timballisto's first level pack (Note: this was _pack1.zip, and they were as separate LVL files.)
namida's very first Lemmings pack (with his permission) (Note: This also includes "This Time We Brought 30 More", a modified version of Tame 1 which was released as a LVL file. The wrong graphic set was used, so I converted it with NeoLemEdit.)
Lemming Crazy Contest #1 (namida, Ben Conway, Insane Steve, and two unknown authors)
Modlvls by an unknown author
Moss91
oldbutgo by an unknown author
Wade Hendricksen
MCMarshy's ninth level pack
togpak.dat by an unknown author
If anyone knows the authors of the levels/levelpacks, please let me know. Thanks.
Um... "Room of Illusions" or something like that? It's a near-symmetrical one in the bubble tileset, anyway.
And ugh... that first levelpack of mine... that had some damn awful levels in there... in fact, The Warp Room is the only really good one (and that one got re-used, with the difficulty increased, in LPDOS). Still, it's better than the first Lemmings Plus pack for Cheapo, so...
More packs uploaded from the Lemmings File Portal:
Moss91's second level pack
Someone named Twig? (Twigpak2.dat, first pack missing)
Two group collaborated levels, one by Timballisto, Ben Conway, Tumble Weed, Insane Steve, Shvegait and Guest. The other by Tumble Weed, Conway, Timballisto, JM, Isu and Shvegait
The Lemmings File Portal has levels and DAT files scattered all over in the "Main" directory. Some of these levels are also part of the DAT files. I need to do some reorganizing before uploading the DAT files from that site.
From the Camanis database:
Reuploaded Lars van Oostrum's levels as ZIP files, since these also have the hint files.
good job on doing this

there are some good levels in there that deserve to see the light of day. For example I didn't yet know about MazuLems missing levels. Both of them were fun despite a little plan and simple.
Oh I remember the Ben Conway levels but from what I remember it might be a bit more difficult completing it using Leminni. Got to love that Martin Zurlinden Level (Episode X - The Phantom Exit) I really like those levels where you have to search for the exit.
Thanks alot DynaLem for getting all the missing packs together, (Great work)
No new packs have been uploaded so far, but I updated a couple of packs:
Group Levels of the older Lemmings Forums - I've included older versions of the second level; I think people will want to know how the level was collaborated from start to finish. I could only find the latest version of the first level in the Lemmings File Portal.
Timballisto's fourth pack uses the wrong graphic sets, so I've uploaded the fixed version. Thanks to namida for converting the pack.
Also, I found the username identity of the LEVIPAK levels: Leviathan.
I found two of Pieuw's levelpacks in the Lemmings File Portal, but since all of the levels already appear in PimoLems, I figured there's really no point in uploading them.
While doing some more searching, I found an older version of the Lemmings Forums, where other old levelpacks reside. Unfortunately, the links to those have been broken. The level packs in question are by Lemeri and Shvegait. Isu, on the other hand, seems to mention that he wasn't ready to upload his first level pack yet.

I commend you for your efforts, this is great work, getting all the levels in one single archive!
I have some old level packs lying around that are still missing, I don't have time to sort through them now but here's an archive will all of them:
http://geoo.digibase.ca/lemmings/oldlevels.zipIt includes shvegait's levels for one, but also a lot of level packs that are already in the archive and some level packs with just a single level back from the CustLemm days when single levels were easier to play as .dat than .lvl
More levels added:
Lemmingswelt archive:
Andi
geoo's archive (Thanks geoo for providing this!)
The 2P levels of Lemmings and Oh No More Lemmings (these also appear in their respective NeoLemmix players, not sure if namida also updated the traditional ones to include those)
Clam's 6th Lemmix pack (this only has four levels)
Ellischant
levelpak3.dat
Insulfrog
Shvegait
Twig's first and third packs
My old hard drive:
beta.dat
comppak.dat
justdigcomp.dat
Thanks also to namida for adding the feature to change graphic sets within the editor.
As I already said in the other topic, awesome job!

You've covered almost everything that I know of.

Eymerich01 seems to lack from the database still (author is Eymerich aka. Ellischant), it's in geoo's level pack bunch. Also I've played Team Hell Spawn's Levelpak001:
http://www.teamhellspawn.com/lemmings/levels.htmNow that there's that many packs in the database, the purpose of rating the packs with enjoyability and difficulty seems to be highlighted...

I've tried to rate some of the new uploads, too.
I found my first levelpacks so I uploaded those
Thanks, Akseli and Gronkling!
Haven't updated this database in a while.
Unfortunately, joem4.dat is TeamHellSpawn's level pack. It's a naming mistake on my part. As I found joem4.dat-joem9.dat on my hard drive and not in the Garjen website (not even through archive.org), joem4.dat remains missing. My old hard drive is not where I live right now, and other than that, the only two other people who may have the pack would be Crane and Joe himself. If you have the pack, please send it to me so I can have it uploaded. Thanks.
New packs:
Gronkling
GronkLems 1 and 2 (thanks Gronkling for uploading them)
geoo's database
Eymerich/Ellischant
geoopck2.dat (this one is more of a preview)
Lemmings Heaven
10 levels with a twist by an unknown author This one is grams88's pack, and has already been uploaded to the Database.
Team Hell Spawn:
Levelpak001.dat by Team Hell Spawn
"10 levels with a twist" is
this level pack.
Thanks for pointing that out. I had a feeling that it was grams88's pack. I'll have that deleted.
A lot of the levelpacks in Lemmings Heaven also appear in the Lemmings Level Database. However, one of them can't be downloaded: SwissLems. If anyone has this pack, please let me know. Thanks.
-H0ru5-'s second and third packs from geoo's database have now been uploaded to the Lemmings Level Database.
Also, in geoo's database, I found four VGASPEC files. Two of them are part of geooPk0 and geooPk1. I've found two others which I don't think are in any pack in the database that geoo sent me.
Does anyone know what packs the VGASPECs are for?
Also, I can't seem to play the third level (Supaplex Tricks) of geooPk1. It says it requires vgaspec35.dat when it's supposed to be VGASPECS.dat. I've tried this in NeoCustLemmix (but the same error could be true for CustLemmix). EDIT: Just change VGASPECS.dat, which comes with geooPk1, to vgaspec35.dat, and it should work fine.
EDIT 2: VGASPEC0.dat is part of Timballisto's 4th pack in the 7th level.
EDIT 3: For VGASPEC3.dat, it is part of "TUT.DAT"; the person who created this level is unknown.
A couple more levelpacks uploaded, including some interesting ones, some of which are VGASPEC.
geoo's database
I've decided to upload Pieuw's two levelpacks after all.
TUT.dat: The Unidentified Territory, a VGASPEC level, by an unknown author. Uses VGASPEC3, the second image in the previous post)
Lemmings Forums (yes, there are a couple of levels that are spread all over the forum)

http://www.lemmingsforums.com/index.php?topic=881.msg18731#msg18731)
Every Single One Counts! by ccexplore, which also comes with his myvgaspec tool: (

The Mon0lith VGASPEC remake by geoo: (
http://www.lemmingsforums.com/index.php?topic=778.msg16806#msg16806)
I also re-uploaded Timballisto's 4th pack to include VGASPEC0.dat (first image on previous post), which is required to play the 7th level, "The Pipes.' Though the positioning of the exit and trap is odd. It may have to do with the lemmings style itself; I probably have to change it to the Dirt style again, as Timballisto used the ONML Numbering, which namida changed to CustLemm numbering.
Hi,
The
Christmas level by uci uploaded at
http://lemmings-db.camanis.net/levelpack/listhas a missing file inside. It contains only the style set. For convenience I attach to this post the missing file.
Someone should fix the error with the uploaded pack.
Fixed and uploaded. Thanks for letting me know.
Do note that the preview displays incorrectly in the database, but it should work fine in Lemmini.
Thanks for fixing it.
I just want to mention that is better to place this file "2013.ini" outside "christmas" folder, since this folder is a style set which should be installed inside Lemmini "styles" folder. Instead "2013.ini" should be placed inside Lemmini "levels" folder.
Thanks again.
I've uploaded another small pack of other Lemmings levels, namely, those from Genesis and SNES.
The first five are from Genesis, ripped by Tsyu. They are:
1. Fun 31 - "Test map"
2. Fun 32 - "Flag test map"
3. 2-player Level 9 - "Now use miners and climbers"
4. 2-player Level 12 - "A task for blockers and bomber [sic]"
EDIT: 5. 2-player Level 17 - also titled "A task for blockers and bomber [sic]". Thanks to namida for pointing this out.
The sixth level is SNES 21, Ohayo Lemming-san! This is a remake of the level by me. This one also appears in the Extra player.
There are two levels titled "A task for blockers and bomber" in the Genesis 2P levels, and they're two completely different levels (although both using the same graphic set). Just thought I'd point this out.
Thanks, will go ahead and fix that.
EDIT: Done.
Made a few changes based on discussion in the NeoLemmix topic:
Uploaded the rest of the Genesis 2P levels, since the other levels are compressed versions of their Amiga counterparts. Since the Genesis counterparts of the Orig Amiga versions are also on the database, there is no reason for me not to include those.
The pack with the Genesis/SNES levels now only has the two hidden levels and Ohayo Lemming-san, as I've moved the three unique levels to the Genesis 2P level packs.
Also, I've re-uploaded Level Jam #3, since I forgot to put an extra level inside: factory by möbius.
Just a note - for NeoLemmix packs, they won't be posted on the Database as there may be conflicts with compatibility due to the NeoLemmix objects. Instead, you may want to look in
this site. I'll also post this on the first page.
I'm not sure about the compatibility of SuperLemmini packs in the Database, though.
NeoLemmix packs using the Extended Format won't work full stop. Those not using Extended Format should be fine, provided they don't use anything that'd be apparent in a level image that wasn't in the standard format.
Likewise, as long as no visually-apparent new features are used, SuperLemmini should work fine.
One Way to Freedom from the Amiga demo of Lemmings has now been added to Orig Extra Levels.dat
Just to let everyone know: if there are levels I've uploaded that you've played here and you've really enjoyed, then go ahead and have those nominated for the SuperLemmini version of Revenge of the Lemmings. This will especially be helpful since möbius is adding a new rank to replace the Bonus rank, and is also taking out some levels that don't work very well in this pack.
More info can be found in
this post.
DynaLem; have you had any luck finding levels like the ones mentioned in this topic? :
http://lemforums.neolemmix.com/old/index.php?topic=555.msg24098#msg24098there are uploads there by Eymerich and tseug for example which I don't know if exist anywhere else. [these links are of course long since dead] anyone else know if/how these levels might be found? These are levels which were uploaded to an older version of Mindless's database.
Any luck using archive.org or similar to recover the links?
I found tseug's level in geoo's level archive, and I've had that uploaded. Not sure about Eymerich yet.
There's a couple of levels in geoo's archive that I haven't uploaded yet; I'll go through them to see what I missed. There are older and newer versions of some levels, so I do need to sort those out.

I've noticed this as well; the problem with geoo's archive is all these levels who I don't know who the authors are or where they came from. Geoo himself probably doesn't remember all of them either. I wish I could find out.
For example there's this level titled "Amiga go for it" Why the Amiga in the title?
In the old forum thread I think Simon mentioned Tseug's second pack. Does this exist somewhere?
also in geoo's archive is a fixed version of Life as a worm

But that level is now really easy, unless it's a backroute.
thanks for all your hard work btw, you deserving big tables of chocolate
I have lots of Cheapo packs that I found in the same hard drive where I found the styles that I converted. When I can, I'll have those converted and posted here. Unfortunately, it can't be on the Level Database for obvious reasons. Perhaps those can be placed in namida's level packs page.
At some point in the future I'll be collecting most of my old Garjen packs - probably removing some of the more poorly-designed levels - and making either a SuperLemmini or a NeoLemmix pack of them.
Hi guys, sorry for bringing up an old topic but I thought I probably ask the question in this one. Who was the main person that created the cheapo engine or levels so to say? I have a feeling that it might of either been conway or Proxima.
Cheapo was created by Peter Spada, who went by Essman on the forums. As for levels, there were as many of us creating Cheapo levels in the old days as there are creating NeoLemmix levels now 8-)
I uploaded a bunch of levels created by ssam1221 (https://lldb.camanis.net/levelpack/list?creator=ssam1221) and Deceit (https://lldb.camanis.net/levelpack/list?creator=Deceit). Thanks to ssam1221 for providing me with the level files.
I uploaded the level packs created by exit (https://lldb.camanis.net/levelpack/list?creator=exit). Thanks to namida for unwittingly providing me with the level files for the "cLUE" pack.
@Mindless
Some of the levels of exit's cLemmings Ultimate Edition on the Lemmings Level Database are outdated with the wrong stats, and so I'm supplying you with the levels that needed their stats changed.
Simple 15 - That 0 save requirement is a mistake on exit's part :P It's intended to be save 79/80, though as namida has suspected and I have confirmed, a save all is possible but I'm leaving it at 79 since that's what exit intended ;)
Complex 6 - The save requirement was intended to be save 80 instead of 79, but that's because exit themself admitted to not remembering how to do the level as a save all, until Nepster showed them a solution that does save all the Lemmings. Indeed, I myself have confirmed a save all solution and it's likely the same as Nepster's, and so the change here is the save requirement is now 80.
Complex 8 - The level likely wasn't tested thoroughly, as the level is impossible with only 16 builders. exit increased the builder count to 25, so that's the change here ;)
cLemmings Ultimate Edition is now updated. Thanks!
