Title: DOSBox 0.73 for Linux (Ubuntu)?
Post by: Dullstar on July 15, 2009, 05:17:35 PM
I can't find a download on the DOSBox site for 0.73 for Ubuntu or anything related to it.  Well, unless the "Gentoo Linux" will work.

I tried the Synaptic Package Manager, but it says I have the latest version.

Does Ubuntu have a DOSBox 0.73?

It's probably not in the Ubuntu repositories yet.  They tend to be a little behind.

Is there a generic Debian Linux package on the Dosbox site?  That would work I think.

Don't think so.  Could check, but...

Gosh, 0.72 sucks.  (gltichiness in sound and graphics)

Nope, no Debian Linux package, just Gentoo, and I don't know what Fedora is, I think it might be a type of Linux.

For the latest versions of several packages, try using the GetDeb repositories.

Or, enable jaunty backports.

Or look for a third party Ubuntu-compatible debian repository.

Mr. K helped me find the answer...  and he had success.

It's on this thread on the Ubuntu Forums.
